If your pet may have eaten, licked, inhaled, or been exposed to something potentially toxic, don’t wait for symptoms to appear. Some toxins can cause delayed effects, even when your pet seems completely normal.

Not every toxic exposure causes immediate symptoms. That’s why it’s important to know what to watch for and act quickly if something seems off.

• Lethargy or weakness
• Trouble breathing
• Seizures or tremors
• Excessive drooling
• Loss of appetite
• Unusual behavior

Those beautiful seasonal plants can add the perfect touch to your porch or home, but some can be toxic if your pet decides to take a bite. 🌱

🚨 Keep an eye out for plants like mums, lilies, sago palms, autumn crocus, ornamental kale, and castor bean.

It’s easy to assume that if something is safe for us, it’s safe for our pets—but that’s not always the case. Products containing xylitol can be extremely dangerous to dogs, even in small amounts.

A few simple habits can help keep curious paws safe:
✔️ Read ingredient labels
✔️ Keep sugar-free products out of reach
✔️ Toss gum, candy, and wrappers in a secure trash can
✔️ If your pet gets into something containing xylitol, contact your veterinarian immediately

🚨 Sugar-free doesn’t always mean pet-safe! 🐾

Some sugar-free products can contain xylitol, an ingredient that can be extremely dangerous—especially for dogs. It can cause a rapid drop in blood sugar and, in serious cases, seizures or liver failure.

Xylitol can hide in products you may not expect, including gum, candy, baked goods, some nut butters, supplements, toothpaste, and more.

💡 Always check the ingredient label before sharing human foods with your pet.

If you think your pet may have ingested something containing xylitol, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary clinic right away.

A quick label check could make all the difference. ❤️🐶

Halloween is right around the corner, which means costumes, trick-or-treaters, and LOTS of candy! While those sweet treats are fun for us, they can be dangerous for our furry friends. 🐶🐱

🍫 Chocolate
🍬 Xylitol
🍇 Raisins & grapes
🥜 Certain nuts
🍭 Candy wrappers

Keep the candy bowl out of paw’s reach and remind little ones (and guests!) not to share their treats with your pets.
