16.3 2021 TB Mare
I’m pregnant and need something older and closer to the ground special!!

The good. Hope is barefoot with no maintenance. She lunges, long lines, hacks alone or in company, is going W/T with myself (pregnancy limitations) and W/T/C with a pro. Had 75 days of professional training while I was getting through first trimester. Stands nicely for vet, hauls well, and turns out in any company! She loves to be with her people, and is always easy to catch. Comes with a lifetime USDF number and her JC digital certificate.

The bad. Hope needs a confident rider to hold her hooves. She appreciates a little cocktail (half dose of dorm is her flavor, she’s a cheap date) for the farrier. Needs more time hauling to do the show horse thing. She’s nervous and green, not naughty.

The ugly, her name has some comedy to it. Injured as a two year old, radiographs from time of injury and time of purchase available; zero limitations, ran on the track with it.

Cleo status report! Things she knows at eight weeks old: sit, her name, and kennel. New introductions this week were release to her name, nail clipping and grinding, and water. She took to the water like a fish, and after a little complaining settled into her nail appointment! We are about 75% on the release to name.

Many make the mistake of waiting to start training with their puppies. There are many low stakes items you can start checking off the list with your puppies that are great for bond building and keeping their little brains engaged.

Formal introduction of LWC Dead Stream Cleopatra, “Cleo.” The only thing better than one chocolate dog, is two. Hope has quite a bit of trailer anxiety, and after a recent incident on the trailer she got even worse. Her struggle has always been around the trailer/truck and loading, but fine once she was on. So to decrease the anxiety we work where we are stuck! A week ago she would set back tied, pull upon approaching, and refuse to eat near it. Today, she isn’t even tied just lead rope looped through the ring, and she finishes her breakfast. This was the first day I went and stood with Rory instead of staying up to supervise Hope; she did not disappoint!
