It is with profound and unrelenting sadness I share that CJ has passed.

Our beloved boy

Our sassy boy

Our benevolent snow overlord

Our distinguished gentleman

Our CJ

He passed peacefully and gently at home surrounded with love and snacks.

He gave us 4,797 days.

13 years, one month, and 18 days

He was and always will be The Timeless Dog.

He was and always will be my best friend.

He was and always will be the goodest boy.

There's a quote going around the internet that I will hold close to my heart -

"They say time works different in heaven. By the time your dog turns around to look for you, you'll be right behind them."

If your dog is already there, could you ask them to be nice to CJ and maybe show him around? He gets nervous when he meets new friends and needs time to warm up but I promise he is a good boy.

Hi everyone -

All training has been canceled for the remainder of the month. Please check your emails for more information. For those that have prepaid refunds are on the way it will just take a few days for the banks to process them.

Thank you πŸ’š

I have been so bad about posting on the page so please forgive me.

BUT something exciting has been going on...

You can now have a CJ of your own! A company reached out to me and they want to make a CJ plushie! How exciting it is that!

Here's a link if you are interested. I will be happy to share more information as we go through the process!

For the month of June, I am opening up more days for private sessions. They are already filling up and I will only be taking two sessions a day on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I can still get plenty of time with CJ.

And a reminder - ALL SERVICES will be unavailable for the entire month of July. Hopefully we will pick back up August 1st.

I just want to thank you all for being so understanding about me closing for a while.

Getting this time with CJ is so so important.

We are making the most of every moment together!

Private training is typically only offered on Mondays and Thursdays. However, for the month of June I will be opening up Tuesdays and Fridays.

These will be limited availability as CJ is still my main priority during this time but the mortgage company likes it when you pay them πŸ˜‚

Believe it or not, I get a lot of people messaging or leaving comments on other social media pages telling me that CJ does not have DM and he actually has hip dysplasia. So I figured I would take a moment to share some differences between the two -

Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) and Hip Dysplasia are often confused because both can affect a dog’s back end and mobility but they are very different conditions.

Hip Dysplasia is an orthopedic condition involving the hip joints where the joint doesn't fit properly in the socket and is typically painful due to inflammation and arthritis.

Degenerative Myelopathy, on the other hand, is a progressive neurological disease affecting the spinal cord. DM slowly disrupts the communication between the brain and the body, leading to weakness, loss of coordination, knuckling, dragging feet, and eventually paralysis.

One of the hardest parts of DM is that while it is usually considered non-painful, it is relentlessly progressive. Over time, many dogs lose the ability to walk entirely, and in advanced stages the disease can continue upward through the body, eventually impacting functions like swallowing, breathing, and even the vocal cords.

Dogs with DM are often mentally bright and eager to keep going long after their body begins to fail them.

While there is currently no cure for DM, supportive care, physical therapy, mobility aids, and home accommodations can help maintain quality of life for as long as possible.

If your dog is showing rear-end weakness or mobility changes, always consult your veterinarian because understanding why it’s happening matters. And a social media post is not going to diagnose and treat your pup.
