This doe is due!!! How many do you think shes going to have?? After the loss of one of our does during birth this is very much needed on the homestead. Beyond excited as this will be the first batch of kits born in the new rabbitry. 🥰

Got some does with kits and growouts moved into the new barn! So excited to see the progression Ive made on this rabbitry to suit our needs and the needs of our buns! We will have some much more room, better lighting and best of all NO LEAKY ROOF!!! Sometimes the best things in life come slow and steady...

No, I havent been on much lately and I want to apologize to those following, these past few months have been devastating on us from February to yesterday has been a Rollercoaster. Yesterday I lost my pup rukia for unknown reasons and it absolutely shattered me, weve had 3 major losses since February and though I still morne those losses. I'm working to see the brighter side of these aspects, and striving to get away from this depression. Thank you to all of those who follow and who have checked in on us, and those who have been helping us work towards are dreams! Love you all!!!

Our rabbitry has experienced significant growth with the arrival of three new litters in the past week, totaling six litters this month. Initially, we underestimated the importance of high-quality stock and began with available options. However, after switching to superior stock, our butcher weights increased substantially from 3lb per rabbit to over 5-8lbs. We appreciate the support of Mulberry Hill Microfarm, Swinging J Homestead, and others in helping us establish a high-quality herd. As we downsize our poultry operations, specifically chickens, we are expanding our waterfowl, rabbit, and quail populations to meet our needs. Recent challenges have led us to reassess our strategy, and we look forward to the future.
So a HUGE thank you to Mulberry Hill Microfarm Swinging J Homestead and everyone else for being there for us and with us.

Last night storms were rough. Today we are thankful there is only minimum damage, when we have seen so much more damage over social media. The massive chunks our doe Gala and buck comet made. These babies are only a few days over 2 weeks old and by far the biggest kits of their age we have had on our homestead! She is such an amazing momma and im so proud of her. Look at the chunk! Tomorrow i plan to get my scales out and weigh them! They are so hefty already! Any guesses on weight?
