Getting ready for soap making season! With the help of my Botany students, we foraged for dandelions for my goat milk soap. Why dandelions? Well, they have many great properties for our skin: anti-inflammatory properties; soothing properties for skin conditions; as well as anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

Fun facts: Every part of the dandelion is edible! Flowers and leaves in salads and roots for boiling or roasting along with other root vegetables! They are also one of the first flowers to help bees in the early Spring.
