Gina Schumacher Claims Second Consecutive SWRHA Level 4 Non Pro Futurity Title
Gina Schumacher returned to the top of the Level 4 Non Pro Futurity at the SWRHA Futurity, riding CS Sippin Moonshine to a score of 218.5 and a $9,061.18 payday. The victory marked Schumacher’s second consecutive year claiming the title.
CS Sippin Moonshine, a 2023 gelding by Spooks Gotta Whiz out of Snip O Chex, delivered a performance that left Schumacher pleased with their trip through the pattern. His stops stood out as a highlight of the championship run.
“My run was good,” said Schumacher. “He stopped really good and I was very happy with him.”
The win represented another milestone for a horse Schumacher has known throughout his development. Bred, raised and trained within her program, CS Sippin Moonshine has allowed her to follow his progress from the beginning to the winner’s circle.
“He was bred, raised and trained by us,” said Schumacher. “I’ve had him since the beginning and have been putting all the pieces together, and he’s a super easy horse to teach and to take to horse shows.”
That willingness to learn and handle the horse show environment has helped the gelding come together as a competitor. His performance at the SWRHA Futurity gives Schumacher a strong foundation as she prepares for the next stop in his futurity season.
Schumacher plans to show CS Sippin Moonshine at the NRHA Futurity in November before moving into his derby career. Her plans for next year include appearances at the NRBC and the 100X, extending a partnership that has already produced a championship.
While the victory added another title to Schumacher’s record, she credited her whole team for helping make it possible. After securing back-to-back Level 4 Non Pro Futurity championships, she thanked the people behind her success for their support and dedication.
“I’d like to thank my whole team. It takes a village, and I’m very grateful for every single one of them.”
