We ventured up to Dodge City over the weekend, had fun time visiting with friends and horses worked great. I ran River and Lizzey Fri. River had slight stumble on 1st, we got it on our way out and had fast time 😥. Coulda woulda, shoulda, but I felt what got us was I didn’t ride him through his turn like usual. Lesson learned. We have been on a journey to get our runs back, our turns have been lacking specially our 2 rights. Well I finally rode correctly and he worked!! 💪🏻 Big thanks to Dan here. River has had tough last two years between epm and allergies. When he struggled breathing our runs were obviously affected. We finally figured out what was going on and got him healed and feeling good then realized we had some work to do on our pattern, both of us. I’d been so frustrated that I think I was cresting even more issues so he took over and boy what a difference. Thx honey!! 🥰
Lizzey placed both Fri and Sat 2D. I really have thrown a lot of firsts at her the last 2 weekends and she’s taken it all in stride (& no exibs). I’m so proud of her. At DC her first run she was bit anxious, 1st wasn’t as smooth as I’d like. I went in after and just rode her around in front of pattern and let her take a deep breath. She’s really figuring it out, but I want her to enjoy her job so will keep doing what’s necessary. Here’s her run Sat, she was more relaxed, we improved our time which was my goal. Go Lizzey!! 🫶🏻
