🎸🐾 FIRST STOP ON THE ADOPT A ROCK STAR TOUR! 🐾🎸

📍 NOW PLAYING: CITY OF GOODING DOG POUND

The tour bus is officially rolling, and our first stop is GOODING! 🎤🤘

Before we introduce you to the four-legged Rock Stars representing this facility, we want you to meet the shelter behind them—because Adopt a Rock Star isn’t only about finding homes for the dogs you see at our events.

It’s also about introducing our communities to the small municipal shelters caring for dogs every single day.

And Gooding may be small, but their mission certainly isn’t. ❤️

🐾 MEET THE CITY OF GOODING DOG POUND

With just 13 kennels, the Gooding Dog Pound works to provide safe, compassionate and responsible care to every dog that comes through its doors while serving the Gooding community through responsible animal control, education and community partnerships.

When a lost dog arrives, their first goal is simple:

🏠 GET THEM HOME. ❤️

When going home isn’t possible, their team works to give that dog a new beginning—whether that’s through adoption or placement with a trusted rescue partner.

As a small municipal facility, they work hard to make the most of the resources available to them while continually improving their programs, partnerships, veterinary care and the quality of care provided to their dogs.

They are committed to maintaining their no-kill status and believe every dog deserves patience, kindness, dignity, proper care, a safe place to stay and, when needed, a second chance.

Because the Gooding Dog Pound isn’t simply a place where stray dogs wait.

❤️ It’s where families are reunited.

🐾 It’s where dogs are cared for when they have nowhere else to go.

🤝 It’s where community partnerships help create opportunities for dogs who need them.

And it’s where a small facility with 13 kennels and one BIG mission works every day to make a difference.

Sometimes, it’s also where a future ROCK STAR is sitting in a kennel just waiting for someone to notice them. 🎸😉

And THAT is exactly why we wanted small municipal facilities like Gooding on this tour.

Thanks to Twin Falls Subaru and Subaru Loves Pets®, we’re sharing the stage this October—and we want you to do more than meet Gooding’s dogs at our adoption events.

We want you to discover this shelter.

Follow their dogs. Share their posts. Visit their facility. Tell your friends about them. And remember their name the next time you or someone you know is looking for a new best friend.

Because these dogs don’t stop needing homes when the concert ends. ❤️

🐾 WHY KEEP A GOOD THING TO OURSELVES?

A couple of days ago, we announced something BIG coming this October through Subaru Loves Pets.

But there’s an important part of this project we want our community to understand — why we’re inviting other municipal shelters to be part of it.

The City of Jerome Animal Shelter was incredibly fortunate to receive a $4,000 Subaru Loves Pets grant, administered through the ASPCA.

And thanks to our veterinary partnership, that $4,000 has the potential to help prepare up to 80 shelter dogs for adoption.

80 dogs.

We’re a small municipal shelter. We don’t HAVE 80 dogs that need this opportunity.

But you know who does?

Our region does.

We know firsthand what it’s like to operate with a small staff, limited kennel space and a municipal budget where every dollar matters. We also recognize how fortunate we’ve been to be invited into opportunities like this.

So, with permission to collaborate with other facilities, we decided we weren’t going to keep this one inside Jerome’s walls.

We’re inviting other municipal animal facilities to participate with us.

Not because their dogs become “Jerome dogs.”

They don’t.

Their dogs are THEIR dogs.
Their adoptions are THEIR successes.
Their staff deserves the credit for the work they do every single day.

We’re simply sharing a resource we were lucky enough to receive.

Because if a dog leaves another municipal shelter for a forever home, that’s still one more open kennel in our region.

One more staff member who has room to help the next dog.

One more family completed.

And one less shelter dog waiting.

We don’t believe municipal shelters have to compete for every resource, adopter or opportunity.

Sometimes one of us gets invited through a door.

We’d rather hold it open. ❤️

Our hope is that Subaru Loves Pets doesn’t just help dogs this October.

We hope it helps build relationships between small municipal shelters that continue long after this event is over.

🐾 One grant. Multiple shelters. Up to 80 dogs. One goal: get them home.

Stay tuned. We’re just getting started. 🎸🐶❤️
