A good day!

Today is a sad day. Today I say goodbye to my friend Jack Marczeski. I have trained dogs with Jack for over 20 years. Jack was an avid supporter of the German Shorthair breed, as well as a hunter and outdoor enthusiast who loved to sail and cook. Jack and I spent many years together training and trialing. He would ride all day and was an excellent wing shooter who loved to gun for me. Jack always supported me and has been my strongest advocate next to my wife and kids. Over the past few years dementia and failing health have ravaged Jack’s body and I have slowly watched him fade away. I have been asked many times how Jack was doing and generally I have replied that “we drank, we fought, and we made our ancestors proud” (which, in full disclosure, was stolen from a movie). But in the end, it was not far from the truth. Today is a sad day. Today I lost my friend. Jack Marczeski was 93 years old.
