🐴💉 HAPPY NATIONAL VET TECH APPRECIATION WEEK! 💉🐴
Here’s to the people who can:
🩺 Hold a 1,200-lb horse while placing a catheter
💉 Draw blood from a horse that has suddenly discovered it has opinions
🧹 Clean up approximately 47 bodily fluids before lunch
🏃‍♀️ Run faster than a horse when absolutely necessary
📋 Remember 37 medications, 12 horses, and 4 phone calls at the same time
☕ Function entirely on caffeine, adrenaline, and questionable life choices
😂 Say “well, THAT could have gone better” at least 10 times a day
Vet techs are the ones behind the scenes keeping the wheels turning, the horses comfortable, the vets organized(ish), and somehow making it all look like we have a plan.
To our incredible vet techs: we appreciate you, we couldn’t do it without you, and we’re sorry about whatever happened in stall 4. 😂🐴❤️

Introducing the newest face of Interstate Equine!
Dr. Abbie Waggoner is a native of Norman, Oklahoma and grew up with Quarter Horses and various farm animals over the years. She has always had a strong interest in veterinary medicine, specifically equine medicine, and that passion grew with her time shadowing and working at Interstate since 2015 during school breaks.

Dr. Waggoner earned a bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Masters in Business Administration and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Oklahoma State University, graduating in 2025. Following graduation, she completed a one-year equine internship at Salado Equine Medical Center in Salado, Texas. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, internal medicine, and acupuncture.

In her free time, Dr. Waggoner enjoys baking too many sweets, reading a good book, and spending time with her family and her dog, Duke.
