Misfitz n Underdogz 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization. Changing the world, for the animals who have been neglected, abused and unloved ...hence our name Misfitz n Underdogz.

It is our mission to be the voice of the animals in need and to represent them to the fullest. We hope you will continue to help us to be the best 501(c)3 non profit organization we can, for the animals. We want the animals to know they are loved and wanted. These are the forgotten ones. We are trying to change the world for one animal at a time. We are a small rural rescue, are volunteer and foster based (always looking for good fosters, we provide all you need, you just provide the TLC and loving home). We are always in search of people wanting to help the animals in Wayne County and surrounding areas. We are family, children and pet oriented. This is an animal lovers page. We post animals in need, we post information, and we network for homes/rescues/adoptions. Please consider helping the animals. Together....we can all be their voice. Rescue, Foster, Adopt, share, volunteer, donate....anything to help us, to help them. For some, we may be their only voice! 🐾❤️ Today We Celebrate Dogs Who Experience the World a Little Differently ❤️🐾

Do you have a blind, deaf, or otherwise differently abled pet? Tell us about them in the comments and share a photo! ❤️🐾

Some dogs are born blind or deaf, while others may lose their sight or hearing later in life because of illness, injury, age, or sadly, neglect. But losing one sense doesn’t mean losing the ability to live a happy, active and love-filled life.

👁️ Blind dogs are incredible adapters. They use their powerful senses of smell and hearing to learn their surroundings. Many memorize the layout of their homes, find their food and water, enjoy walks, play with toys and follow their favorite humans everywhere.

👂 Deaf dogs are amazing learners, too! They can learn hand signals and visual cues for commands like sit, stay and come. They rely on sight, touch and routine—and often adapt so well you may forget they can’t hear! 🐶❤️

Special-needs pets are sometimes overlooked for adoption because people assume caring for them will be difficult. While some need extra accommodations or veterinary care, many blind and deaf dogs require surprisingly few changes once they’ve learned their environment.

They run. They play. They learn. They snuggle. They get into things they shouldn’t. 😂 And they love every bit as completely as any other dog.

That tiny blonde mohawk comes with quite a story 🥹

This sweet puppy was born with a skull defect that left her looking a little different from the rest. But as far as Twilight Sparkles is concerned, there’s nothing unusual going on.

Her family is keeping a close eye on her health while she continues doing what she does best: being a very happy puppy 💛
