We had a very special visitor at South Golden Pet Hospital recently! Meet Re**er, a handsome male tortoiseshell cat! 🐱🧡🖤🤍
Male tortoiseshell cats are extremely rare, which makes this guy extra special! Most tortoiseshell cats are female because the genes responsible for that beautiful coat pattern are linked to the X chromosome.
But beyond his rare coloring, Re**er is just absolutely handsome, sweet, and full of personality! We couldn't resist getting a few photos of this unique little guy while he was here.

We think Re**er deserves an extra round of applause for being one seriously special kitty!
Have you ever met a male tortoiseshell cat? Tell us below! 👇🐱

🍂 Cooler weather doesn't necessarily mean flea and tick season is over!
These pesky parasites can remain active well into fall, and some can survive indoors throughout the winter haunting you and your pets! Keep your pets protected and ask us what prevention is right for them. 👻

🦎 Meet Flick!

This handsome chameleon came to see us at South Golden Pet Hospital after his family noticed he wasn’t feeling quite like himself and was having some respiratory troubles. He got some extra love and attention from Dr. Redd, and we’re hoping our little friend is back to his happy, curious self very soon!

Flick is such a beautiful little guy, and we’re so grateful his family trusted us to care for him. We’ll be cheering you on, Flick! Keep hanging in there, buddy. 🥹🧡

We hope you’re feeling better soon, sweet boy!

🎸 Willie Nelson rocked into South Golden Pet Hospital today! 🦎
This handsome bearded dragon came to see us after he decided food just wasn't his thing lately. While Dr. Redd gave him a thorough exam, we couldn't help but admire what a special guy he is.

Did we mention Willie Nelson is 12 years old?! That's an amazing age for a beardie, and he's still stealing hearts everywhere he goes. ❤️

We're wishing this sweet old gentleman a speedy recovery and many more sunny basking sessions, crunchy snacks, and happy adventures.
Show Willie Nelson some love in the comments! 🧡🦎

Some cats have a story that breaks your heart... and then they show you just how incredible resilience can be. This is a long post...strap in.

Hays is a young kitty with Angels With Paws who has endured more than most animals ever should. He is FIV positive, has a 4/6 heart murmur, recently fought through a severe upper respiratory infection, and survived a devastating leg injury that left one of his legs essentially degloved. Despite every setback, Hays has never stopped wanting love.

Today was another big milestone. He came in for a recheck after starting blood pressure medication to make sure he is healthy enough to undergo the dental procedure he desperately needs. Years of hardship have left him with severely diseased teeth, and this dental will help give him the comfort he deserves.

The amazing thing about Hays isn't everything he's been through—it's that after all of it, he still greets people with gentle eyes, soft purrs, and so much love to give. He doesn't know he's "special needs." He just knows he wants someone to love him.

We're asking our incredible community to help give Hays the happy ending he's waited so long for.
🐾 Please consider adopting Hays through Angels With Paws.
🐾 If adoption isn't possible, donations toward his medical care—or to Angels With Paws—will help Hays and so many other animals like him receive the care they need.
🐾 Sharing his story could help him find the family he's been waiting for.
Every animal deserves a chance at love, comfort, and happiness. We hope Hays gets that chance for however many years he has ahead of him. We know whoever opens their heart to this sweet boy will be rewarded with a best friend unlike any other. ❤️

Some hearts are simply unforgettable. ❤️

Sweet T***s here has subaortic stenosis, but she never lets it define her. She faces every challenge with quiet strength, endless love, and the sweetest soul. She reminds us every day what courage truly looks like.

Her incredible mom not only takes amazing care of T***s, but she also takes care of all of us here at SGPH with amazing food and treats. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love—for both her girl and our team—never go unnoticed.

We are beyond grateful to be part of your journey, T***s. You'll always have a special place in our hearts. 🐾❤️

Meet Ghost! The cutest pittie with the biggest ears we ever did see!
👻
Ghost stopped by to see us because his itchy skin and sores from being so itchy was making him anything but comfortable. While treats definitely helped keep his spirits up and some hilarious antics from Dr. Black, we're even happier knowing he's on the road to feeling better.

Itchy skin isn't just an annoyance—it can be a sign of allergies, infections, parasites, or other underlying issues. If your furry friend is scratching, licking, chewing, or shaking their head more than usual, don't ignore it. We're here to help them get back to feeling their best.

❤️🐾 152 lives changed... and we're just getting started. 🐾❤️

Behind every rescue pet is a village of people who refuse to give up on them.
From June through today, our team at South Golden Pet Hospital has performed 152 spays and neuters for rescue animals—all while continuing to care for the sick, injured, and beloved pets who walk through our doors every single day.
Each one of those 152 surgeries represents hope. Fewer unwanted litters. More resources for animals already waiting for homes. More wagging tails, happy purrs, and second chances.
We are incredibly honored to stand beside the amazing rescue organizations making this possible, including , , and 4 Paws For Life. Your compassion, dedication, and tireless work inspire us every day. Thank you for trusting us to be part of your mission.

To our doctors, technicians, assistants, client service representatives, and support staff—thank you for showing up every day with your whole hearts. The long days, the extra effort, and the love you pour into every patient truly make a difference.

And to our community: when you adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate to a local rescue, you're changing lives in ways you may never fully see. Every act of kindness matters.
Here's to every rescued pet who got a fresh start, every family whose life was made brighter by adoption, and every person working behind the scenes to make those happy endings possible. Together, we're creating a brighter future—one paw at a time. ❤️🐶🐱
