Doggy Downtime

Doggy Downtime A low-waste and plant-based dog walker and pet sitter in Golden, CO. Offering one-on-one specialty services!

I began working with canines in 2010 when Doggy Downtime was first launched in my hometown of Norwalk/Fairfield County, Connecticut. Soon after I began learning how to groom dogs while working with a local mobile groomer. In 2012, I moved to Denver, Colorado to participate in the Misha May Foundation’s dog trainer/behaviorist apprenticeship where I met Denver’s top trainer and behaviorist, Lorrain

e May. I continued to care for dogs while working for various pet sitting companies within the Denver Metro area and soon became a certified animal reiki practitioner through a course offered by Misha May. In 2015, I was professionally trained by Deidre Hered, a top-notch groomer of downtown Denver, and began learning to perfect breed standard haircuts. Doggy Downtime was relaunched in the Denver area in 2016 and I continue to offer professional pet care services including dog grooming and basic dog training. My love for creatures extends from fuzzy kittens to scaly reptiles and I am always happy to care for all animals larger and in-between.

Hi friends! It’s been a while...

Thank you to everyone who has supported Doggy Downtime throughout the years. I stepped back last year to focus on safety and grounding in community care, and I’m so grateful to be returning to pet care now with renewed energy and purpose.

Although I’m no longer offering full service grooming, Doggy Downtime is back with eco-conscious dog walking and plant-based pet sitting services! I’m also offering animal reiki sessions, pet-friendly garden consultations, community workshops on basic at-home grooming, and guided group hikes. All rooted in care for pets and the planet.

🐾 If you’re looking for mindful, low-waste, compassionate pet care in the Golden area, I’d love to reconnect. Message me at (720) 515-0622 or visit www.doggydowntime.co to learn more and book.

Always rooted in care for pets, people, and the planet.

UPDATE ON THE TRAILER:
She’s ready to be shipped!!! After a long and worrisome wait, I got a text with these beautiful pictures. The manufacturers in Georgia got hit hard by the hurricane but luckily were able to keep my unit safe. Shouldn’t be long before it’s in my hands. After that we’ll just install the tub and hopefully I’ll be ready to get back to work before the holiday season :)

It has been a painful year.

I reopened the shop only to have to close it after months of persistent anonymous racist threats received through the website. Sadly, there are still individuals who react with hate towards a Black-owned business (a puppy and plant shop of all things) being open in a place like , also unfortunately known as “white ridge”.

Racism in places like Colorado and other northern states is often overlooked and minimized. Police departments frequently lack accountability for failing to protect people of color, and in many cases, they themselves become the immediate threats to our safety.

It remains unclear whether the ongoing threats to my shop stem from one individual or multiple sources. Therefore, I have chosen to prioritize my safety and mental well-being by closing the business.

In the meantime, I am still able to provide full service grooming for tiny dogs, such as sweet Miss Nani (pictured above), as well as nail trimming services for others. But for safety reasons, anyone seeking services will need to be vetted, an existing client, or referred by an existing client.

As a single mother who has worked diligently and faced numerous challenges, I am also seeking generous forms of support such as donations to help recover from the financial losses of this year. These funds will help immensely as I am unable to work to my fullest extent and plan to relocate out of state to ensure the safety of my family. Donations can be sent to me via Venmo (username ).

I sincerely appreciate any assistance during this difficult time. This year has been a bit too full of humbling experiences and practicing asking for help. Thank you all for your understanding and unending support.

this cutie goldendoodle, graham, let me use him as an example today to show off two different looks I enjoy styling:

#1 the poodley-look

#2 the “don’t-poodle-my-doodle”

Owner often feel strongly about either-or but I’m happy to groom any style for my doodle clients, so long as their coat type allows! I think both options are super cute but the choice between which to get for your pup simply comes down to a personal preference.

I’m still accepting new clients so text (720) 515-0622 to book your pups 1:1 therapeutic grooming session!
