Sweet Oreo has been learning how to walk on a leash which is a big step for him! We’re still working on his stranger danger but he’s made baby steps with that since being in our care. Go Oreo go!

We have been on quite the health journey with little miss Josie here the past year! She’s seen so many specialists from internal medicine to dermatology and ophthalmology, and we’re still figuring some things out. But despite all this and her horrific history of being a puppy mill mama for 8 years of her life, she is just so happy to be here, soaking up all the affection and snacks. She’s the definition of resilient.

We got her eye issues figured out, now it’s on to a different dermatologist to see if they can help us figure out her skin issues. This wouldn’t be possible without all of your support 💚 Your donations make a real difference in senior dogs lives.

Do you think we can find a home for Oreo before the holidays? 🎄🎁 💝

The sweet boy is the ultimate snuggle bug and companion. He follows his person everywhere and is always sneaking kisses when you least expect it.

🐾 Meet Oreo! (Please read before applying – Oreo needs a special adopter)

Oreo is a 9-year-old chihuahua with a big personality and an even bigger heart for his person. Sadly, he was surrendered when his family moved and couldn’t take him along. Originally given as a “gift,” he wasn’t truly treated like one. But here’s the truth: Oreo IS a gift — for the right person.

Oreo is your classic chi: loyal to the core, deeply bonded to his human, and not much of a fan of strangers. Once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll have a companion for life. Because of his strong guarding instincts, Oreo currently needs sedation for vet visits, and we’re seeking an adopter willing to work with a vet behaviorist and trainer to support him.

What Oreo Needs:

✅ A patient, dog-savvy adopter
✅ Someone willing to explore training + medication support
✅ A home with no children
✅ Someone who will respect and protect his boundaries
✅ Commitment to feeding wet food for life (no teeth, but eats like a champ!)

The Details:
• Age: 9 years
• Neutered
• No teeth
• Good with dogs
• Tolerates cats (doesn’t chase, just prefers his space)
• Currently needs sedation for vet visits

Oreo may not be the easiest dog, but he is absolutely worth it. With the right home and support, he can finally have the stable, loving life he deserves.

Josie Update! 💚🐾

Our sweet girl Josie saw both a dermatologist and ophthalmologist this week. We learned she has a healed eye ulcer and dry eye, which means she’ll need lifelong eye drops and lubrication to stay comfortable. Unfortunately, her skin issues remain a mystery but we’re working with internal medicine next to dig a little deeper.

She’s already racked up thousands in specialty vet visits (and counting), but Josie is so worth it. After spending the first 8 years of her life as a puppy mill mama, she deserves nothing less than the most pampered golden retirement.

If you’re able, please consider donating to give Josie the care and comfort she deserves in her golden years.

Dot has found her forever 💚🥳

Our sweet Dot has officially been adopted! She now lives in Aurora with a wonderful family who was so excited to welcome her home. Her new mom works from home, which means Dot will get to do what she loves most - lounging in cozy spots and simply being near her people.

We’re overjoyed knowing Dot will spend her golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and companionship. Happy tails, sweet girl 🐾

ADOPT DOT! 💚

Meet Dot - a lovely old gal with a heart full of love and a nose for good smells. Dot came to us after her former family brought home a new puppy, and, well… she wasn’t thrilled about the constant nipping and non-stop energy. Who can blame her? As a lady in her golden years, puppy shenanigans aren't her favorite. However, she does love a good tug of war!

At around 14 years old, Dot is well past the chaos stage and firmly planted in her mellow era. She’s settled in beautifully at her foster home with three other dogs, but she does like to chase cats, so a cat-free home would be best.

Dot is the definition of easygoing. She’s content to hang out around the house with her people, bask in some sunshine, and enjoy a short daily walk (with lots of time to sniff, of course). She’s gentle, affectionate without being clingy, and just a total sweetheart.

She’s about 50 lbs, fully housebroken, and will even let you know when she needs to go out by standing at the door and giving a single, low “woof.” Her recent vet check gave her a clean bill of health, with only mild arthritis and dry skin, both under control and manageable with glucosamine joint supplements and daily fish oil.

Dot is ready for her forever home - a soft spot to land, a warm place to rest, and someone to love her through her golden years. Could that be you?

Two weeks ago, we got the sweetest surprise. A local teen decided - entirely on their own - to raise money for senior dogs in need. They chose to donate to our rescue, worked hard to spread the word, and ultimately raised over $2,000.

Their generosity is a powerful reminder: you don’t need to be a certain age, have a ton of experience, or have it all figured out to make a real difference in the lives of senior dogs.

Every act of kindness matters—and it truly changes lives.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. 🐾 💚
