Buzz is such a special boy. I had to share. This morning one of Heather’s special hens, Phyllis, flew out of her pen and flew into the dog yard and stood by the sliding glass door to the dog room. No one barked. They knew something was wrong. They must of whined a special whine and Buzz heard it through 2 walls. You can’t tell me they don’t communicate with each other. Heather was still in bed and Buzz ran and pounced on Heather almost knocking her out of bed. Whenever he wants something he goes to Heather and Heather asks him ‘show me’ and he shows her what he wants. He ran back to the back door barking, down this breezeway and to the door to the dog room. Heather was in pursuit. He went to the sliding glass door in the dog room and there was Phyllis! Heather went out and picked her up and there was this thing that looked like a big worm hanging out of her mouth about 3” long. Heather brought her in and discovered it was some kind of solid rubber tube. We pulled it out and it was about a foot long. I think she thought it was a worm and tried to eat it. I don’t know how Phyllis knew to go to the sliding glass door of the dog room to ask for help. How the dogs communicated to Buzz in the house that there was a problem outside, and how Buzz understood to go wake Heather up to save this chicken. Who actually really knows what goes on in their world. All I know is Phyllis will live to lay another egg. Buzz is the hero! I had to share what a special boy he is!
