In case you didn't know that 5As has a Thrift Shop, here is a great way to get to become familiar with what we do!
We are preparing one of our "Pop-Up Shoppes"! This one for Halloween!
Get a great jump on your Halloween shopping on everything from Halloween home decor, costume ideas and party decorations with another 5As "Pop-Up Shoppe"!
Mark you calendars for this coming September 10th, 11th and 12th and only at 5As annual Christmas Shop space. Just across the parking lot from our Thrift Shop. 2625 State Street in North Alton!!!

Luna (black) and Izzy (tan) are older ladies who came in together and they are bonded girls looking for a good retirement home.
They came in because their owner lost their housing and sadly there was nowhere for them to go. Izzy is about 9 yrs old and Luna is about.
Both girls don’t seem to mind other dogs or cats and they’re both very playful-especially Izzy, she LOVES her toys!

It’s so difficult to place bonded dogs especially larger dogs like these girls so if you or anyone you know are interested in them let us know and we’d be happy to show them off!

Buster is the cutest boy and so sweet. He’s 7 yrs old and he just came back after being previously adopted. He’s was very much loved by his family but after the baby of the house grew into their toddler stage he just couldn’t get over his (previously unknown) fear of toddlers. They tried everything from gates in the household to a private trainer and nothing helped his aggressive fear response.
However, if your house is free of young children he is very friendly, likes other dogs, housetrained, and walks well on his leash. He was loved so much by his mom he even comes with his own how-to info and things to go home with. If you think you have a good home for him just come on in and ask to meet with him! Just because he’s 7 does NOT mean he’s low on energy!!

This girl has been with us since Christmas and we can’t believe nobody has snatched her up! Brownie is about 2 yrs old, loves to play, and seems to get along with everyone-canine or human! She was originally a stray who got adopted and then brought back for deciding to play too hard with the Christmas tree last Christmas.
She loves to chew and would likely need enrichment activities to help her to refrain from any future activities such as a tree mutilation but she absolutely loves people, adores children, and gives the best kisses to babies. She seems to be house trained and aims to please so how about you give her a shot and come say hello?! You’ll never know whether she’s the one unless you come out to see her yourself!

Helix is another one of the boys from our litter of semi-feral puppies that got the chance to be fostered for a period of time with a shelter worker to help him see how home-life would be.

Unlike Mars he preferred to be on the lead and to walk around the yard himself as opposed to staying on the leash.
He also really appreciated the other dog in the household and would majorly benefit from having a young playmate to bond with. He also enjoyed attempting puppy play with the cat of the household.

Helix would still need an adjustment period and slow consistent TLC but has been much more outgoing and playful overall than his brother Mars. He kept his kennel very clean and did pretty well with going potty outside on a schedule!

If you think that Helix may be a puppy (1yr old now) that is meant for you just let us know and we are happy to work with you to make him most comfortable!

Who likes beagles?! Bandit here is 4 yrs old and he was originally brought in because he was exploring Jerseyville and nobody claimed him. He seems to like other dogs and he loves to run so please-he requests a fenced in yard. He was adopted and brought back due to some misunderstandings between him and his adoptee so he can be a little particular but don’t let that stop you from coming out to see him!

You all thought Koda’s eyes were something so we give you Juniper!
She was brought in to us via animal control as a scared and defensive gal but she has been nothing but a bouncing bundle of goofy energy once she came out of her shell. She absolutely loves to play but does NOT like other dogs. She plays so roughly that she would also probably do best around older kids. We have noticed that she prefers women but it hasn’t stopped our guy volunteers from getting to know her and see her silly side as well.
She came in to us in February so let’s get her out of here and into the best home she can hope for! Shes young, active, and can’t wait for a home to claim!
