This kitty was found after being hit by a car on Bemis Rd. in Mayfield, NY. She was transported by NYS Police to a nearby vet and thanks to their willingness to help, she is receiving care. We’re hoping to find an owner. Does anyone recognize her?

🐾 They’re safe—and thanks to an incredible team effort, their future is already brighter. ❤️

Yesterday, with the help of the Johnstown Police Department and Johnstown Animal Control, we took in 18 cats and kittens from a cruelty situation in the City of Johnstown. About 15 more cats and kittens were rescued and being helped by another organization- showing what’s possible when we work together.

Despite what they’ve been through, many of these cats are already showing how affectionate and resilient they are. They’re now safe, receiving care, and on the path to a better future. 🩷

Caring for so many animals at once puts a strain on our resources. As the only brick-and-mortar shelter in our immediate area that cares for cats and kittens, we rely heavily on community support. We are in immediate need of:
🐱 Non-clumping clay cat litter
🥫 Pâté-style canned food any brand for adult cats and kittens

Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated and will support veterinary care, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and testing. Donations can be made via PayPal at [email protected], dropped off at the shelter, or mailed to 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd. Gloversville, NY. Your support makes it possible for us to continue helping animals in urgent need, and we are deeply grateful.

A special thank you to Dr. Emily Frollo for beginning the important work of spaying and neutering these cats so they can move forward healthy and ready for homes.

These cats will not be available for adoption until sometime next week, but we currently have many wonderful cats and kittens ready for adoption now if you’re looking to add a new family member.

🚨 **WE NEED CAT AND KITTEN ADOPTIONS!** 🐾❤️

Right now, we're assisting with a local animal cruelty case in conjunction with the City of Johnstown ACO and Police Department and we know that more cats and kittens will need a safe place to go.

The reality is that there are very few resources for cats in our area, and we are one of the only shelters in our immediate region that provides housing and care for them. The only way we can continue saying "yes" to cats in need is by making room through adoptions.

🐱 To help us create that much-needed space, we are temporarily offering reduced adoption fees on all of our adoption-ready cats and kittens!**

Every cat and kitten available for adoption is:

😳 How has Ranger not had a single application?! 😳

We’re asking ourselves the same question.

Today Ranger got to tag along for a quick curbside pickup at Lowe’s, and he reminded us once again what an incredible dog he is. He rode perfectly in the car, waited patiently, took everything in stride, and was an absolute gentleman from start to finish.

Ranger may need to be your one and only pet, but what he gives in return is worth it. He’s incredibly loyal, loves people, knows his basic commands, and is always up for an adventure—or even just riding shotgun while you run errands. He’s the kind of dog who is simply happy to be by your side.

We know the right person is out there. Someone looking for a best friend, a hiking buddy, a stick-gathering expert, and a constant companion.

🐱💕 KITTEN SEASON IS HERE… and we have kittens! 💕🐱

Our kitten room is full of adorable little personalities just waiting to find families of their own! We currently have boys and girls ranging from approximately 10 weeks to 4 months old, and every one of them is:
✔️ Spayed or neutered
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ FIV/FeLV tested

While any kitten can make a wonderful addition to a family, we strongly encourage adopting two together whenever possible. Kittens raised with a feline friend are often happier, more confident, and less likely to develop unwanted behaviors. They keep each other entertained, learn appropriate play from one another, and always have a built-in cuddle buddy when you’re away. Two kittens really are better than one! ❤️

With so many wonderful kittens available, there’s a perfect match (or two!) waiting for just about everyone.

If you’re interested in adopting, we encourage you to stop by the shelter during our regular business hours, fill out an application, and spend some time meeting the kittens in person. 🌻 Meet Junie – Your New Favorite Passenger Princess! 🚗❤️

Looking for a best friend who will happily ride shotgun on every adventure? Meet Junie, a sweet 4–6-year-old pittie weighing around 40 pounds who is ready to find the family she’s been waiting for.

Junie absolutely adores people and has never met a stranger. Whether you’re heading out for a quick errand or a weekend road trip, she’s happiest riding along, taking in the sights from the passenger seat with a big smile on her face. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who simply wants to be by your side, Junie is your girl.

She does well with other dogs her size and larger. Her compatibility with small dogs and cats is unknown.

Junie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and 4DX tested, so she’s ready to start the next chapter of her life. She does have an older orthopedic injury that has been evaluated by our veterinarian, who has determined that surgery is not recommended at this time. She is currently doing well on joint supplements, and we’re hopeful they will help keep her comfortable for years to come.

Don’t let that discourage you—Junie is full of love, enjoys life’s simple pleasures, and is happiest spending time with her people. She deserves a family that will see beyond her old injury and recognize the incredible companion she truly is.
