This weekend our farm was tasked with helping the local humane society seize some livestock, they happened to be 7 very beautiful and energetic goats. Although the efforts are ongoing the ones we have secured have settled in nicely. Momma decided to jump in the front of the trailer ledge and lay on a spare hay bag. After some convincing, a taste of alfalfa, and a dedicated volunteer’s assistance she climbed down and settled in. A very big thank you to my mom, Paige, and members of the Athens County Humane Society and its volunteers for efforts to ensure safety for the goats (and all animals for that matter). The next door neighbors were especially instrumental in making sure the humane society was notified of the issues and for that we are all grateful. Also don’t be alarmed by the rope harness- I made it so the little one could walk around and eat grass without a collar around her neck.
