The Ranch is operated by James and Donna Birthisel, following nearly 30 years of ownership by the Semingson family. The Semingson family brought a longstanding tradition of natural horsemanship and professional cow working, as well as being a family that welcomed all its visitors like one of their own. James and Donna have enjoyed Smoke Rise for a decade and are looking forward to sharing the knowledge and experience with the Smoke Rise family.

This gentleman was the best friend to many. Never met a stranger. Made everyone’s experience at the restaurant memorable. RIP fine sir. Enjoy those horses in Heaven. From the Semingson’s to the Niese’s to the Birthisel’s we took many people to meet this fine man.

Our season has come to an end and now it’s time to have a short rest and then get busy during the winter. There are huge changes coming this next season, we sure hope you all will stick with us and see what’s in store!
