Meet Lois! Lois is NOT my favorite cow.
Lois is unfriendly, uncooperative, and slow!
Lois is forever annoyed with every move I make. She acts as if every milking is the first milking ( even though we do this everyday twice a day) and that I am expecting her to perform like she's in the circus.
But everyday I bring the food. And everyday she gives the milk.
We have come to an understanding that works and doesn't require either of us to resort to violence. 
Don't be like Lois!

It's world Milk Day!!

Over the last several years Milk or dairy have become almost bad words.😞
Well not in the Butler house. Here Milk is life!!!!!
Here are the things we made with fresh raw milk this week.
- Yogurt
- mozzarella cheese
- chocolate ice cream
- coffee creamer
- butter
-buttermilk
- whey ( for smoothies)
- Kiefer
- cottage cheese
- not to mention the gallons we drink fresh weekly

We had a baby!!
Ok a calf!
So technically these are my father’s cows. We share pasture right now and this is the first baby of the year. She was early and born on my son Oliver’s Birthday so my dear father named her Olive. Tell me that isn’t the sweetest thing you have ever heard.
My father grew up milking cows and now gets to watch me milk mine. It’s fun doing it together and I’m grateful to have him by my side. One heathy calf and several more to go!
