Somewhere out there is a person who has always wanted three Basset Hounds. This post is for that person.
Meet Watson, Ellie, and Finnegan.
They're the three best friends that anyone could have.
Watson is 8, Ellie is 8, and Finnegan is 5- he's also Watson and Ellie's son- and the three of them have spent every single day of their lives in each other's company, which is the most important thing to know about any of them.
Watson is the leader. He's not interested in snuggles- he's interested in knowing what you're doing, why you're doing it, and whether there are treats involved.
Ellie Bells is the heart of the operation- sweet, laid back, goes with the flow, and will find the sunniest patch in any room and make it hers.
Finnegan is a certified snuggle bug once he trusts you, follows Ellie around like she invented walking, and has a d***y charm that is genuinely impossible to explain until you meet him.
They do best with a dog door and direct yard access- it's what they're used to and they sometimes aren't great about asking to go out (yet! They've just never had to learn until recently). A securely fenced yard is a must- they're hounds with working noses and they will absolutely use them. They've been around a baby with no concerns. Early cat reports: curious, not chaotic.
If you have the space, the fencing, and the specific personality type that finds three bassets aspirational rather than alarming? We want to talk to you.
