Hope Valley Ranch

Hope Valley Ranch Helping animals in need one at a time.
*Going through an organizational change at this time, please be patient during the updates.

After personal life events and Covid, we have shifted to supporting local small farm animals. While we will continue to help international street dog efforts, its become financially impossible to bring dogs here from Brazil. Donations received for other rescues will be forwarded after processing fees by 3rd party processors. Over the years, we have not posted about our work here on the farm. Going

forward, our posts will be primarily about happenings here, educational information and highlighting efforts we believe in and know the individuals/organizations well. As always the goal is still to make a difference one animal at a time. US donations are tax deductible and receipts are provided.

Nancy Update

She’s improving this evening but she’s pretty exhausted. She’s keeping the bland diet down and frequency of needing to go outside is further apart. Luckily the meds going forward don’t taste bitter so she is eating it without a protest.

Poor Little Nancy😢 GI upset unlike what we have ever seen with her in 10yrs. So don’t take any chances once it escalated. She is resting and giving her GI a break.

The risk of dehydration in small dogs is high with persistent diarrhea and vomiting. Google and AI searches are good to get an idea of immediate medical help is recommended but it’s not a replacement for actual vet care.

Will update.

Chip was the overnight den mother, supervising the kittens running around inside. Having always panicked if he was confined indoors, he was calm and just hung out all night with the kiddos. So proud of you Chip❤️

Definitely wasn’t on my bingo card yesterday. Received a text from the neighbor, two of the white guinea fowl were down by their house which is about 500yds away. One was high up in a tree.

If you know guineas, walking up and grabbing them is like wining the lottery. So corralling them back home took a group effort and their running ground speed is fast🤣but the hardest part was once they got into the brush along the fence line.

It wasn’t until I came to the farm that I discovered how badly I react to poison ivy. But you don’t think about it when you see an animal panic.

Afterwards, washed up and so far no flare ups 16hrs later. Fingers crossed.

I’m going out on a limb to say since this group wasn’t raised with chicks, they are more traditional guinea fowl behavior than the rest of the flock. They “fly” higher and farther, more zany and spastic🤣, and sound off at just about everything.

Gratitude and big thanks to our neighbors for being so understanding and helpful getting the two adventurers back home🙏🏼

How many brushes or cleaning tools do you need for all the different animal waterers. We currently need 6-7. The nooks and crannies get ya every time.

Sad news from Brazil. Dibs crossed the rainbow bridge. Please see the post. They are in need of a vitamin in hopes of helping Rusty. Another oldie favorite🙏🏼 Run free Dibs 🙏🏼🌈❤️

Evening from Brazil. Yesterday we were very short staffed and we found Dibs dead. She had been with us ten years. We don’t know what happened to her and found her with her head in her food bowl trying to eat the chicken Carlos gave her last night. Looks like a heart attack and must have been sudden. She came to us in 2016 she wasn’t a puppy but was young. We had so much to do I had no time to post this. RIP Dibs.
Carlos was working all day due to nobody wanting to help around here. We are always short of staff. Generation Z are lazy. 48 percent of young ones in Brazil are on benefits. There are massive floods here and in Rio. People have died due to the floods. Minas Gervais and Rio are also under water. The rain is relentless. Monsoon has arrived with a vengeance. Every afternoon and night the thunder starts. Please donate to help our rescue and sanctuary. Please donate via PayPal. [email protected] we are also looking to find someone to send us a product for Rusty, who has problems right now. The product we require is called https://pupganics.com/products/pupganics-multivitamin%E2%84%A2-daily-soft-chews?variant=47975519977639 here is the link to their site. I cannot get it here in Brazil.

Helping local small farm animals with financial hardship. So happy for these newly happy feet!

Thank you for those donating. When hooves get too long, it’s extremely painful and uncomfortable to the point where some animals are unable to walk.

That being said, sadly no good deed goes unpunished. Many have reached out for free trims and I apologize for THF to have to w**d thru all the requests. There are only so much help they can do and I feel bad they have to w**d thru all the inquiries.

Even so will keep the fundraiser going knowing qualifying cases will be helped if we can. If you would like to donate, please click the link. Thank you🙏🏼
