Announcement!
I've decided to take a step back from PSA. When I first started, the club was coming to Casper much more regularly. Over time, that changed, and attending increasingly meant making the full 8-hour round trip. That made it much harder to stay involved at the level I wanted to while balancing a young child, a full-time non-dog career, and home life. I love my club, so this was not an easy decision to make.
I still want to train, compete, and do things with my dogs, but my goals have shifted toward opportunities closer to home.
Because of that, I've decided to rehome Radar. He's only three, has a great pedigree, and the potential to be successful in multiple avenues.
Radar is an imported male from Chris Pro K9. He is powerful and confident with an intense prey drive, excellent grips, and he loves the fight. His obedience is coming along very well, and he is very close to being ready for his PDC. He has primarily been worked on a sleeve and is nearly ready to transition fully to the suit. He also spent several months boarding with Heart Mountain K9, and they can also answer questions about him for serious inquiries. I do have videos of his bitework from a seminar this April. He has a ton of ball and food drive too.
Radar needs a very experienced home that understands intense working dogs. Even for a German Shepherd, his prey drive is intense. He cannot safely just be loose around horses, chickens, cats, or other small animals, which makes a normal farm-dog life difficult for him. I honestly think he'd be fine in town. He's great in the backyard and does not have bad habits like climbing fences or digging.
He does not have to continue in bite work. He has a lot of potential for it, but he enjoys other work too. He loves dock diving and has earned his Dock Senior title, and I think he would also do very well in things like scent work.
He is good with puppies and younger dogs but does not do well with most older dogs, especially males, and he is very dominant. I do not think he would be safe with most small dogs. With people, he is social and affectionate, has always been great with my 3-year-old son, is environmentally solid, neutral in public, and does well crated. He's traveled a ton, seen a lot, and never had an issue out and about.
Radar is intact, AKC and Czech registered, and located in Central Wyoming. I can travel approximately four hours, but he must be met in person first. Videos are available for serious inquiries.
OFA prelims at 13 months:
Hips: GOOD
Elbows: NORMAL
Character and veterinary references will be required. I will be very selective about where he goes. The biggest requirement is an experienced handler who understands high-drive working dogs.
