Southern Ritz aka Ritz is a 2024 Premium Westfalen filly by Ribaldi, and out of Southern Bunny, a fancy, successful 1.3m mare by the infamous Southern Pride. Ritz is absolutely stunning and most definitely has been stamped by her stunning daddy with her looks, as well as his fancy way of going!! Ritz is well put together with very nice, balanced conformation and a beautiful, feminine face. She has good substance while still being refined. She is sound, clean legged, and blemish free. This fabulous youngster has had a great foundation on her and she is very smart, brave, and inquisitive… she is in your pocket friendly and always the first one to greet you for attention. She cross ties, straight ties, baths, picks up her feet, pony’s off the golf cart, confidently marches over wooden bridges, and loads like a champ. She is used to our funny farm which is home to all sorts of bizarre creates— camels, cows, bison, peacocks, donkeys, minis, pigs, goats, emus, geese, lots and lots of dogs… and she routinely sees golf carts, 4wheelers, tractors, etc. Nothing phases this black beauty. Ritz is a truly wonderful mover. She has a big, expressive walk and a flat kneed, sweeping trot (though it’s hard to get great video of her trot since she much prefers to just canter), and her canter is absolutely to die for—- her canter will definitely catch the attention of hunter riders— it’s a beautiful, rolling metronome of a canter, with great use of her shoulder and a ton of reach. It looks like the kind of canter that would be a dream to lope around a hunter course on, so flowy and even. She has also demonstrated nice changes while showing off at Liberty. We sent Ritz down the jump chute for the very first time and we were super impressed by her natural ability, her quiet nature to the fences, and her super cute form!! This girl truly is a hunter extraordinaire in the making—- but that’s no surprise considering how big of a splash Ribaldi’s offspring have been making in the hunter ring!! We are super proud of this fancy filly and can’t wait to see her go on to do big things!!! We expect Ritz to mature to 16.1+h… she is currently around 15.2h (guesstimate). Ritz is a mild cribber but is controlled with a collar.
