Honey Bear 🍯🧸
Honey Bear is a sweet, kind mare who has had quite the journey. She has experience in both barrels 🛢️ and poles 💈, with her best time being 18.889 in barrels and 21 (TBD) in poles.
Unfortunately, her first owners started her hard at a young age, which led to scarring in both her front and back tendons 🐎. Because of this, she is no longer suited for speed events or heavy performance work and is more appropriate for light riding 🌿.
Honey is 7 years old, and I’ve had her since she was freshly 5. Despite her limitations, she is still rideable and would do best as a light-use or trail horse 🌄.
Due to her tendon condition, she requires a thorough, slower warm-up before riding to help keep her comfortable and reduce the risk of injury. With proper handling and care, she does well in lighter work 🤎.
I haven’t ridden or worked her consistently in the past year, but I’ve recently started the process of bringing her back into light riding.
She has also been used for beginner lessons in my program and has proven to be very patient and gentle 🐴✨. While she can be a little spooky at times, she does well around animals and commotion—I’ve had young kids (ages 2–4) ride her with dogs running around, and she handled it just fine 🐶👶.
Honey is a Thoroughbred Arabian mare with a beautiful buckskin coat 🌾. She enjoys baths 🛁, is good for the farrier 🔨, and loads fairly well 🚛. She did have a past trailer accident where she panicked and injured her forelock, requiring stitches, but she has since recovered and is currently loading fine 👍.
Honey Bear truly holds a special place in my heart 💛, and I’m looking for a loving, knowledgeable home that understands her needs and will give her the easy, happy life she deserves 🌸.
