The Glendale Humane Society

The Glendale Humane Society This is the official page for the Glendale Humane Society. We are a no-kill facility.

We provide financial assistance for medical help to companion animals and resources to find safe havens for senior pets in need will become the new chapter in our story. Glendale Humane Society is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) humane rescue and education organization, founded in 1924. For more than 80 years, we’ve worked to find safe, loving homes for lost, unwanted and abandoned companion animal

s in Southern California. The majority of our animals come from city and county shelters that routinely euthanize adoptable animals due to over-crowded conditions. Once here, these animals remain in our care until placed in loving, permanent homes. Our Mission Statement:
Glendale Humane Society provides a compassionate no kill haven for dogs and cats while transitioning them into loving permanent homes. We foster a positive relationship between people and their pets through education. As a non profit organization, we rely on private donations and receive no funds from local, state, or federal government. Our goal is to ensure as many dogs and cats as possible receive the second chance for life they deserve.

This is a courtesy post. GHS DOES NOT have this cat. Please contact the email below if you are interested in adopting Sleety.

“Sleety is a 1 year old female, orange tabby who has a congenital condition known as Cerebellar Hypoplasia, or wobbly cat syndrome. I found Sleety along with her brothers and sisters as day old kittens. I am moving to an apartment and must rehome Sleety.
She has trouble keeping her balance, and falls backwards frequently, she's the most courageous and outgoing cat I've ever seen with a disability. She loves to climb because she can't jump at all, and keeps human company. Sleety is extremely loveable and likes to climb, sit on your lap, and knead until she falls asleep. She plays with yarn, and runs after pointer lights like any other cat, but walks a bit funny while doing it. She's litter trained, and has no problem eating or drinking like any normal cat and doesn't require any special medical attention, but I do recommend keeping her indoors to keep her as safe as possible.

If you're interested in adopting Sleety you can contact me, Jean Minasian, via email at [email protected]

THiS IS A COURTESY POST. THIS CAT IS NOT AT GHS.

“Artemis is a young very sweet boy. He is 2 years old. He is very chill with his food and doesn’t get upset when I pet him when he eats or slightly move his bowl. He is a bit shy towards new people and will usually hide. I had him up to date on vaccinations until Covid hit. He is neutered. Artemis does splash water around a lot and will sit and/or walk in the water if it’s in his way. As a result his hair on his bottom half has become matted and he’s tried to groom it out thus resulting in some bald spots. He needs someone to train him out of that habit so he won’t be wet and bald in spots anymore. His temperament is perfect but that behavior needs to be worked on. He will also gravitate towards any wires so he needs supervision and/or training. Artemis is microchipped.” Contact [email protected] for more information or if you are interested in meeting Artemis
