We want to send a big Thank You to the Oceanside JCC. They recently held a donation drive for the shelter and presented us with much-needed food, toys, and supplies for our dogs and cats. Winston, one of our four-legged ambassadors, visited the JCC's afterschool nursery school program last week to personally thank them for their generous donation!

We have an emergency case and we’re asking for any help you can offer 🚨

🐾 Late Sunday, we got an emergency call about a neglected senior dog found wandering in the pouring rain. We committed to bringing her into our care, no matter what.

The condition she arrived in broke our hearts. She needed to be fully shaved down, is blind in one eye requiring daily medication, has severe dental disease affecting her ability to eat, and shows signs of cognitive decline. Her prognosis was uncertain, but giving up on her was never an option.

Through it all, this little dog has shown nothing but sweetness and love. She deserves comfort, dignity, and happiness — and we are determined to give her exactly that.

Meet Shore Miracle. 🌟 Pictures included show her as we found her and after being shaved down, due to the severe matting of her coat.
Her care is costly and ongoing. If you can help us give her the life she deserves, please consider making a donation — every dollar goes directly to her medical care and recovery. Our link to donate is in our bio and found at https://www.givinggrid.com/vhkayc

Meet Chico 🐾

Our handsome Chico needs a new home and family who will take care of him forever. Given up through no fault of his own, he’s waiting to spend his life with you!

Chico is a 2 year old orange and white kitty who is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. He is FIV positive and plans on living a long and full life being nurtured and cared for. He is currently at our Atlas (Queens) location. Please fill out the adoption application on our website Bobbiandthestrays.org or follow the link from our profile

In response to the many inquiries we are getting about our annual Halloween Party, I would like to inform everyone that we will not be having a party this year. This year has been difficult for us in many ways, including transferring ownership of our Freeport location to another rescue.

We are continuing our rescue work at our Glendale location. We plan to have our Spring and Fall Fundraisers in 2027 as usual. Thank you for your continued support and donations.

Sincerely,
Bobbi

This post is in loving memory of a beloved Anastasia. 🤍

At 19 years old, after experiencing a decline in her health due to old age and failing organs, she has gone on to greener pastures. She was loved by everyone and a favorite in the shelter. Her favorite spot was on the sunny window sill. We will miss her dearly.

RIP Anastasia 🕊️
