Yesterday evening, Wedgewood Pharmacy, which we utilize as a compounding pharmacy, issued a voluntary recall on some of their products. Shady Grove has removed affected products from their shelves, but some of our clients may have recently been prescribed gabapentin 50 mg tiny tabs or metronidazole 50 mg tiny tabs. To be clear, Wedgewood indicates this is a concern for the amount of active ingredient in these prescriptions and not a toxin or foreign material. If your pet has already finished their prescription and is healthy and happy, there is no need to follow up. If they experienced any potential adverse effects, or if you are currently using this prescription and wish to replace it, please contact the clinic.
