Good morning, everyone. Please understand this isn’t a post I ever imagined I would be writing, but I am doing so to inform you all of the things happening in my life that will be affecting my salon. This is going to be a bit lengthy, but please read and share.
I am about to be incredibly transparent on my business page, which isn’t something I want to do but I feel is necessary. I also don’t see a point in being vague or hiding any of this.
I am a small business owner and my personal life (for better or worse) impacts my salon.
Earlier this month, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
When I was told that I have cancer, a million thoughts flowed through my mind. Thoughts filled with worry, fear, sadness and anger.
These worries are natural, they’re normal, and they’re understandable…but what they are NOT is helpful. This cancer was caught early, I am young, and I have an amazing community, client base, wonderful friends and family who will not dare let me go through this alone.
I am being treated through the Vanderbilt Breast Center under the care of talented and dedicated doctors and their staff who will do everything they can to get me back at my salon tending to your dogs as fast as possible.
In the next 2-4 weeks, I will undergo a bilateral mastectomy along with treatment. I am going to be off work for a few months and will not be able to answer any messages or calls from clients. My lovely and talented friend + employee, Jessi, will be handling all Pet Grooming by Olivia business for the upcoming few months while I am recovering and going through treatment.
My salon will NOT be closed! Changes may have to be made to the schedule if you have upcoming appointments made, but my salon will remain open under the care of Jessi.

Working with animals has been the greatest joy of my life, even in its most challenging moments.
I am proud to be a dog groomer and I am so grateful for so many years of getting to know your pets and the wonderful families they live with and love. I will not let something like breast cancer take me away from my business and from doing what I love for many years to come. 🩷
While I’m out, I will miss every one of you. But I will be back as soon as I can, ready and excited to work.
