An update that is both exciting and bittersweet! 🥹

We moved to a property in Hollister at the end of January, and a few of our personal horses came home (a dream come true!) to help with forage control 🌾

And now, I am officially moving the rest of the business here starting in June! I am sad to be leaving Cielo Hills Ranch, it has been an absolute pleasure working there, but I am very excited to have the business closer and be able to be more involved again.

Cerise is also moving on to pursue more education in equine bodywork with Tom Mayes and is taking a bit of a break from training horses. She has been the glue that’s held everything together while I was out with Josie, and will be dearly missed! 🥺

Change is never easy, but I am excited to see what this new stage of life has to offer.

Apollo is still looking for his new home! 🌈

If you’re looking to get a great horse for a decent price… look no further!

Apollo is a 7 year old bay mustang gelding. He has been in my program for 1.5 years and has alllll the skills down on the ground and under saddle. He rides bridle less, cruises around easily in the arena or loves adventuring on the trail. He just needs someone to further his career in whatever direction they choose!

He did have a small episode of laminitis at the beginning of the year and has recovered well from that. He will need a home that will be attentive to that and can continue some preventative maintaince. Because of that, his price has been reduced a lot⬇️

Apollo is still available and looking for his forever home! 🏡

He developed a mild case of laminitis shortly after my original post about him. We have been treating him accordingly and he is recovering well. With mindful management, it shouldn’t be an issue going forward!

Needless to say, he’s never had shoes on before, and was on a few weeks of stall rest when this video was taken. He wasn’t bothered at all! 🙌🏻

Keen, the horse who was once impossible to catch and extremely flighty 🏃

Now he’s able to handle learning how to be hosed off, while other things are going on around him!

A few months ago that would have been way too much going on at the same time for him to handle 🤯

And all we’ve done is teach him self regulation in different scenarios. Going step by step, and staying consistent is the key to growth 🌱

The proof is in the pudding! ✍🏻

April is a lovely quarter horse mare with a future in reining that we had the pleasure of starting last year

We taught her self regulation first, and then taught all the basic skills under saddle very particularly, making sure she was doing everything biomechanically correct

Within a few weeks of continuing on to professional reining training, she was ready to begin learning all the maneuvers, and didn’t struggle to figure it out because the pieces were already there

If everything is taught correctly in the beginning, and the nervous system is regulated, the “hard” stuff really isn’t that hard! 🙌🏻

And to make it even more sweet, she is totally obsessed with Josie 🥹
