The torch has been passed! 🗽🍓 We’re BERRY EXCITED to announce that Gilroy’s very own U-Pick Berries & Flower farm will continue on after this season!! The torch has officially been passed from the Padda family to the Baluyot-Justo family.
Mal and his nephew Sar started this small 7.5 acre farm from its bare ground, full of weeds and very poor soil health 6 years ago today. Coming from a family of farmers in India, it was only natural that he take on this career in agriculture and organic farming. You’ve all witnessed the hard work that he, his parents, wife, and kids put into growing this land into what it is. As they embark on a new adventure, they’ve passed the reins onto Marybeth and her family who you’ve seen at the farm.
Marybeth’s family also comes from a small line of farmers who migrated from the Philippines to Livermore to work on the vineyards. Bringing in a background of w**e distribution, her work in Organic gardening and the past two seasons at Tru2Earth Farm alongside Mal gives us great confidence that her and her husband Jeff will continue providing Gilroy, Morgan Hill, and the greater Bay Area the berries & produce that you’ve grown to love.
We’ve witnessed together our own families grow from mom’s bellies to babies to children (fur babies too) on this very farm. We’re extremely grateful for the support we’ve received since 2020 and we hope to keep seeing your faces at the farm until T2E lives on!
That said, we have one more month until the season ends and then we close until MARCH 2027 for our Grand Re-Opening. We hope to see you pick the last of the organic berries. Come say goodbye, hello and walk the rows!
