The Journey.
There’s a certain kind of understanding you can’t fake in the dog training world, the kind that doesn’t come from books, certifications, or perfectly trained dogs. It comes from frustration, from failure, from standing in a yard or a living room wondering why nothing you’re trying is working.
That’s where Sonny Piekarz, George Lyall, and Jordan Wells started.
None of them were born trainers. There was no moment where everything just clicked and dogs magically listened. Their foundation wasn’t built on easy wins, it was built on personal dogs that challenged them, confused them, and at times made them question if they were doing anything right at all.
They’ve all been in that position, the leash pulling, the lack of focus, the disconnect between dog and handler. The kind of struggle that doesn’t just test your patience, but makes you feel like you’re failing your dog. And that feeling… it sticks with you.
But instead of walking away from it, they leaned in.
Each challenge became a question. Each failure became a lesson. And slowly, through consistency, observation, and a willingness to change themselves before blaming the dog, things started to shift. Not overnight, but in moments. Small wins that built confidence, not just in the dog, but in themselves.
And that’s where something deeper took hold.
There’s a feeling that comes when it finally starts to click, when communication becomes clear, when the dog understands, when the relationship changes. It’s not something you can measure or put into words easily, but once you feel it, you don’t forget it.
That feeling is what drove them forward.
It’s what pushed them to go beyond fixing their own situations and step into helping others. Because they recognized the same frustration in other people. The same confusion. The same desire to do right by their dog but not knowing how.
And they understood it, because they lived it.
Today, when they work with clients, it’s not from a place of theory, it’s from experience. They don’t just see the dog; they see the person behind the leash. They understand the pressure, the doubt, and the hope that someone can finally make sense of it all.
At the end of the day, they’re not claiming to be anything more than what they are.
They’re just people.
People who care deeply about dogs.
People who are committed to helping others.
People who found purpose in their own struggles and chose to use it to guide someone else through theirs.
And if there’s one thing they all believe, it’s this:
The success they found isn’t reserved for a select few.
It’s something every dog owner can experience with the right guidance, the right mindset, and someone who truly understands what it’s like to stand where they’re standing now.
That’s how The Method Dog Training™️ was inspired.
