It is with a very heavy heart that I have to post the passing of my grulla mare, Cheyenne. Just as she seemed to be getting over her illness, she suddenly took a turn for the worse and the vet couldn't save her. She was a character, an escape artist, and good at getting into places where she didn't belong. Immediately after I purchased her I started training her to be a lesson horse, then added trail riding, camping, parades, summer camp, 4H, pony parties, obstacle challenges, and mounted security patrol. Mostly she was an all-around pet, and will be missed by many.

WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE the addition of a therapeutic riding program at Grove River Ranch! Beginning March 1, 2026, Rachel Moss will be teaching Saturdays and Monday afternoons/evenings. She will also be teaching a therapeutic horseback riding summer camp session June 22-26, 2026. Rachel is a PATH International certified riding instructor with 10+ years of experience helping riders grow through the power of horses. Having her own mare for 21 years deepened her understanding of true horsemanship, patience, and partnership, skills she passes on to each rider she works with. She has had the privilege of teaching riders with autism, cerebral palsy, ADD, ADHD, Down syndrome, and many other unique disabilities. She is passionate about creating a safe, encouraging environment where riders build confidence, independence and connection through the horse-human bond. Sharing the gift of horsemanship and the healing power of horses is her life's passion. We welcome you to share this post with everyone you feel could benefit from the experience. CAUTION: I suspect Liam Michael Horse Rescue is a scammer because he gave a potential buyer my address as the location of the horse, which was a complete falsehood. The buyer tracked me down on google to confirm I did not have the horse and we have reported him. There are so many scammers that I would like to warn everyone who is shopping to purchase a horse not to give any seller money up front especially for a horse that is out of state.

It is with great sadness that I had to part with one of my awesome lesson horses, Holly. Although she was happily grazing and running around in her turnout the day before, something happened early Christmas morning and I found her laying peacefully in her run pen. She was 31, maybe her old heart finally gave out. I'm glad she passed without suffering and I was spared the decision of when to put her down. Holly not only did lessons, but parades, horse shows, public events, camping and trail riding. She will be greatly missed.
