NOTICE: To anyone boarding or grooming, potential kennel cough exposure has been apparently on the rise since the beginning of May, maybe the end of April. We discovered this unfortunately the hard way through a small number of cases that occurred the week of May 10th. Exposure must have occurred the weekend prior, and we were notified the middle of that week, and the following week from owners of sick dogs. We've notified personally everyone boarding the last week, and the next couple of weeks what has happened, and are recommending, but not requiring that if your kennel cough vaccination is 6 months or older, to re-vaccinate. Our policy of at least a week prior to your stay, still stands. We are disinfecting more thoroughly than we already do, and cleaning as thoroughly as we can in order to protect and keep your pets safe. We are trying to be as transparent as possible with what is happening at our facility, and hope every other facility will follow suit. Unfortunately, not every facility may feel this way, and is possible why an outbreak happens instead of communicating, and working together to protect your beloved pets as much as possible. Please call or text us anytime if you would like more information, have questions, or if you don’t feel comfortable to board, we completely understand. Hopefully this will fade out soon. Just be aware, people do bring their dogs everywhere, so the exposure is potentially in many different places. Kennel cough is also extremely hard to confirm, but we just go by symptoms, and the likelihood from where the dog has been. It is also very contagious. It also appears that the kennel cough incubation is now shorter from a week to now 4 days, and the duration of cough may be longer, even in vaccinated dogs.
