Well... I've been alluding to my next big project... and here it is!
Plan is to ride 50 miles and host a 5 day healing intensive in all 50 states... This is going to take about 2.5-3 years to complete.
Mission name: Fifty Shades of Bay
Launch date: September 1, 2027
Location: TBD
I am going to need a lot of help putting this one together, so please feel free to share and invite people to the page!

Meet the beginning of Fifty Shades of Bay.

That's Uno on the right and B.E.E.F. on the left—two of the Original Five mustangs who will help carry this mission across America.

Today, there are five.

-Uno. B.E.E.F. Clifford. Ernest. Kuzco.-

Together, they're preparing for something pretty damn big.

My last big project included riding 5000 miles across America to inspire and educate the adoption of 5000 mustangs... I am still riding for the mustangs, but this time, the mustangs and I are showing up for the people too.

Beginning September 1, 2027, Fifty Shades of Bay will travel across all 50 states, riding 50 miles in each state to raise awareness for America's mustangs and hosting five-day horse-centered Healing Intensives designed to help people discover another way forward.

Over the next year, you'll get to be a part of helping this mission come together. And everything it takes to get five mustangs—and one enormous idea—to the starting line.

Mustangs + People = Purpose.

It’s my wedding anniversary but this is my horse page… so this post is to highlight my mustangs (and burro) who took part in the celebration 🥰.

Fun fact: my husband hasn’t rode a horse since we attempted to date back in high school. 🤣

I am feeling super grateful that these two are getting along so well. I can’t wait to introduce them to the other 3 herd members for my new project. ❤️

Alright guys- Rarely ever do I need help naming a horse, but here I am, asking for your opinion.

This boy is a 4yo Mustang from Calico Mountains, NV.

He has a fun & friendly personality while also being a bit jumpy & reactive (though I think with more work that will gradually disappear).

This boy is the 5th and final horse that I have acquired for a project that I have yet to publicly announce… but coming from the person who previously rode her mustangs 5000 miles across America- he is going to be a part of something big.

Here are the 3 names I have narrowed down:

MOWGLI-
Think Jungle Book, this is a wild mustang learning to adapt and live in a domestic world. Mowgli in the jungle book was raised by another species outside of his natural world.

FERB-
My first (and slightly famous) mustang’s name is Phineas… and he’s from the same HMA as this boy. I actually wanted to name my horse Pistachio ‘ Ferb’ but Pistachio was too cute a name to change. Would love to have a Phineas & Ferb duo.

ERNEST-
For Ernest Shackleton, one of the greatest leaders of all time. This boy is bound to leave a legacy behind. Also he’s just an earnest lil dude. Plus we’re about to set out on something that is going to require a lot of endurance… (Endurance is the name of Shackleton’s ship.)

Maybe this is a counterintuitive thing to post, especially since I'll soon be announcing an opening for a training spot in September... but I feel like I need to say this anyway...

Today reminded me why I don't want to be taking outside training horses forever.

Not because of difficult horses & not because of difficult clients...

It's because every horse I work with leaves carrying a little piece of my heart.

When a horse comes to me, I don't just try to teach them to saddle, pack, or ride.

I genuinely open my heart & soul to them.

I try to show them exactly who I am because I don't believe there can be real trust without honesty and vulnerability. If I want a horse to trust me enough to show me who they truly are, then I have to be willing to do the same.

More than anything, I want every horse to feel heard and understood.

I've found that when a horse feels understood, the training changes. We stop acting like opponents trying to win numerous battles, and start becoming partners trying to understand each other and work through problems together.

That kind of partnership creates a bond.

And that's the hard part....
Because at the end of the day...
They're not my horses.

I pour my heart into helping each horse I come in contact with, navigate the domestic world, knowing that one day they'll climb onto a trailer and head home with the people who own them and also love them.

And that's exactly how it should be.

Not everyone has the time or experience to train their own horse, and I truly believe the world needs more ethical horse trainers.

But today, as I stood there with tears in my eyes watching one of my students load up and head home, I was reminded yet again-
I don't think my purpose is to train hundreds of horses.

I think my purpose is to help thousands of horses, especially mustangs... by inspiring and teaching people how to better understand them...

Currently I have some things building in the background that I can't wait to share with you all when they're ready to honor my greater purpose to the horses, so stay tuned...

Until that time, I will train.

Because while each horse I train may always leave with a little piece of me... I hope they (and my client) also leave knowing that, for a little while, they had someone who truly listened. Someone who saw them for who they were instead of who they were expected to be. And maybe because of that, they leave just a little more confident and a little more prepared to find their place in the domestic world.

P.S.- The horse in this photo is actually one of my very first client horses... and the very first mustang I ever touched.

Callie and her first owner, changed my life in ways I'll probably never be able to fully explain or understand. Years later, her owner gifted her to me, and she became part of my herd. Today she's happily retired with friends back home, and every time I visit Pinedale (home), I make sure to go see her.

She is proof to me that sometimes the horses we think we're helping, end up helping us just as much... and if we're lucky, we get to carry a little piece of each other for the rest of our lives.

Sometimes the world tells us what someone can’t do…

This young lady can’t read our write because of her particular form of autism.

But put her on the back of a horse… and suddenly all anyone sees is what she CAN do.

The horse carrying her is only 4 years old and a once wild mustang from Divide Basin, WY, HMA.

Two individuals that the world might underestimate.

Together, they’re showing us what trust, patience, and understanding can accomplish.

This is how horses, especially mustangs, can change lives.

I am so grateful I got to be a part of Flicka’s training to help Camille accomplish a long time goal of being able to jump on her beautiful black mustang.

Hearing how delighted her mother was when she says "oh my goodness" at the end of the video is icing on the cake. 🥹❤️❤️

🐴 ✨One Training Opening Available✨🐴

I currently have one opening available for a horse in training, in Gillette, WY.

Over my 19 years of experience, my approach to training has evolved. My focus isn't simply on getting a horse from Point A to Point B as quickly as possible. My goal is to build a horse that is confident, willing, and understands its job through trust, consistency, and clear communication...

(Hence why I was able to ride from Delaware to California on previously wild mustangs as soon to be seen by the public in the 5000 Miles 5000 Mustangs Documentary.)

I specialize in working with mustangs, but I truly enjoy helping horses of all backgrounds build confidence and become better partners for the people who love them.
