Jennifer is our most recent addition to the team and a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She likes working in vet medicine because she enjoys making animals and their people feel better. Plus it’s a bonus to hang out with cute kitties every day! In her time outside of work she enjoys reading, thrifting, tide pooling for octopus and camping with her family.

Savannah is our Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant/Handy Woman. She keeps Dr. Hicks from hurting herself trying to assemble furniture or figure out how the printer works 🤦🏻‍♀️ Savannah’s favorite thing about veterinary medicine is advocating on behalf of kitties. She estimates 97% of her life is snuggling her kitty, Boots, and vegging on the couch 🥰

Carmen is our Lead Veterinary Assistant. She has worked with Dr. Hicks for years - they first bonded at their previous job together at another hospital. Her favorite things about veterinary medicine are the relationships she builds with clients, connecting over a shared love of kitties and personal interests! (Carmen brags that she can yap with anyone about anything.) In her free time, she reads, attends concerts, hikes, and paddle boards.

Mac thinks the paper towels are secretly a cloak of invisibility! We give every kitty the opportunity to explore the exam room and acclimate before their exam starts so they’re less stressed by their visit. If they prefer to hide, we typically examine them in a carrier with the top removed or with a cloth towel lightly draped over them. Not a paper towel! 😹

Belle started off her checkup unsure and hiding in her carrier. Dr. Hicks knew what to do: sit on the floor next to her and speak softly, offer some catnip and treats, gently stroke her cheeks, and build trust over time. By the end of her exam, she was purring and didn’t want the petting to stop. She jumped out of her carrier and interrupted her sister’s exam to ask for more petting. Then she surprised everyone by crawling into Dr. Hicks’ lap and remaining there until it was time to go home!

San was so sweet during her recheck exam! As compensation, she demanded more dental kibble and of course we obliged.

Dental diets are an easy way to help prevent tartar. Ask us if they would be appropriate to feed your kitty.
