My dear friend, Heather Anderson has just published her second book in the “Happy Days” series. Many of you know the Winklers and their lovely dog, Henry. Henry sired my last litter of Springers. He truly was a gentleman, in addition to being an accomplished show dog.

Heather came to help with the litter and fell head over heels in love. She has Zoe, a full sister to our,Tessa, the dam of the Happy Days litter. Zoe is a working diabetic alert dog for Heather. She makes her life better every day, and she has actually saved her life on two occasions.

This series of books she’s writing about the puppies is not only a creative outlet. It has become a passion; born out of need and fulfilled by a little black and white Springer named, Zoe.

Just Juno is the story of a puppy that becomes a diabetic alert dog. It’s Zoe’s story, told in a way to show us how the dog experiences being a service dog. How she learns to bond with and protect her person. I think children will love this book with its colorful, fun illustrations and its insightful dialogue. Imagine how this lovely book will impact a child newly diagnosed with diabetes. Hopefully, it will make all the negatives a bit less stressful and make her feel special in a good way.

Many of you know Deb Clancy from the Conformation ring. Her Bella was our Juno in the litter. Bella is a Champion like her sire and dam. She’s not the puppy that became a diabetic alert dog, though there is a pup that did. His name is Bodi. Soon there will be a fictional story about him also.

Please, share this link with your friends and families. Especially if you know a child with diabetes or disability. Let them know they’re special. You have to be special to have a service dog of your own!

This class of 3 pups flew by. Great people and fun dogs. Owners learned to communicate with and train there dogs. A lot of progress was made! And the puppies enjoyed play time. Milo did more watching since the big dogs were too rough. He made the rounds to visit with all the people while the others wrestled.

Please, help me applaud these great young couples for getting their pups through AKC STAR puppy classes. Henry and Loki were shy the first week, but no longer.
Valentines training has 2 new STARS!
Congratulations to these smart, energetic, sweet boys and their people for making it happen.

NEW CGC CLASS STARTING IN EARLY SPRING!

I have two slots left for you and your dog for CGC (Canine Good Citizen) classes beginning soon at trainers’ convenience.

This class ends in an evaluation that earns your dog the AKC’s CGC TITLE. AKC records that title and maintains it forever.
We focus on basic obedience, manners, and getting along while training next to other dogs.
Classes are relaxed, enjoyable and shared with other “dog people.” Come join us!

I also have 2 slots available to socialize a new puppy- less than a year old. Don’t miss THIS CRITICAL DEVELOPMENTAL phase for your puppy. They learn “how to learn” while you learn how to marker train.
This class earns your dog an AKC STAR puppy title and no evaluation is required at the end.

They did get to play, but they weren’t playin’ when it came to training.

Milo and Benson are going on to train for Therapy where they can help their owners at work.
