PINE KNOLL CENTER FOR INTEGRATED HORSEMANSHIP

PINE KNOLL CENTER FOR INTEGRATED HORSEMANSHIP We are dedicated to documenting and preserving the Art of Riding and Horsemanship through our Essence of Horsemanship programs.

Pine Knoll Center for Integrated Horsemanship provides educational opportunities and programs designed to support an “integrated” approach to optimum wellness and performance of both horse and human. Our programs emphasize the importance of the “whole picture”: incorporating Emotional Conformation Profiling of the Equine Athlete, Round Pen, Groundwork, Seminars on Integrative Healthcare, Farriery,

Dentistry, Biomechanics and Personal Performance Coaching. We have created an environment where horses and riders will maximize their abilities and fulfill their aspirations.

I find this interesting! I see this often in our Equine Assisted Leadership Workshops when horses bring out leadership skills and empowerment in participants team dynamics change (people change) and its is not always who you would expect to be the leader! HorsEmpowerment at Pine Knoll

In eastern Kentucky, folks were used to seeing a tiny stray Chihuahua wandering around the hollers like he owned the place. Small dog, big attitude. He barked at pickup trucks, chased squirrels twice his size, and strutted down gravel roads like he paid the property taxes.
Then one day… he disappeared.
With coyotes and the occasional wolf roaming deep in the Appalachian woods, most people figured the little guy had finally picked a fight he couldn’t win.
But about a month later, a farmer checking his trail camera outside town saw something that made him stop and rewind the footage.
Moving calmly through the dark Kentucky woods… was a wolf pack.
And right out in front of them, trotting along like the supervisor of the operation, was the missing Chihuahua.
Ears up. Tail curled. Zero fear.
The wolves didn’t look bothered. If anything, they looked like they were just following the tiny boss through the forest.
When a wildlife expert heard the story, he laughed and said:
“I’ve worked around wolves for years. They’re smart animals.
But Chihuahuas?
Those things run on pure attitude and absolutely no sense of self-preservation.”
Sometimes in the Kentucky woods, the smallest animal isn’t the prey…
It’s the one in charge. 🐺🐕

Kerry M Thomas - Sensory Soundness & Herd Dynamics
https://www.kerrymthomas.com/
When people ask me to describe my work with horses, I often say this: I translate the equine mind.My work is centered on understanding how horses experience the world, how they perceive their environment, process emotional and sensory information, and express that experience through behavior, movement, and performance. We all know what horses are. My work is about uncovering who each horse is. At its heart, this is a journey of discovery, revealing the emotional, sensory, and herd-driven forces that shape a horse’s responses and capabilities. Our goal is collective: to bridge the gap between the natural herd dynamic and the domesticated world

Bruce Anderson - Nature’s View
https://naturesview.us/
Bruce Anderson began his work with horses on the family cocoa and coffee estate on the West Indian islands of Trinidad and Tobago. He learned to ride on the estate and then represented his country on the National Show Jumping Team. From there he moved on to breeding farms at home, in the U.K. and in the U.S. While in England, he earned an agricultural degree and worked with racehorses in Florida. He eventually moved into the hunter/jumper show circuit.

Arianna Sakaris - Ariana Sakaris Equestrian Development
