Toothless old man Brady and the girls. I’ve done everything to try to fatten Brady up, but with his age and having almost no teeth, keeping him comfortable, healthy and satisfied is the goal at this point. The vet has been out twice since I’ve had him, he’s had his vaccines, has been de-wormed, gets 4-5 scoops of senior feed daily with added weight nutrient powder, either soaked alfalfa pellets or the wet probiotic chopped alfalfa and dry hay. He’s happy and content, but I hate seeing a thin horse.
He is loved. The girls are loved. This sanctuary is their safe landing. 🫶🏼❤️🫶🏼❤️🫶🏼

Last week, I dropped an Uber/Lyft rider off at a clinic and handed her the “You Matter” I give to every rider. She said, “I really needed this today. I’m in recovery.”
Today, I took another rider to a destination and then back to her house. She vomited and was profusely apologizing and completely embarrassed. I, of course, told her to please not apologize. When she got out to the first stop she said, “Please don’t leave me” while continuing to apologize. I got out, cleaned up the minor mess and sprayed/refreshed before she got back in. She told me when I dropped her off that her brother died two months ago, and she wasn’t handling life very well right now.
Ya’ll life is hard. People are hurting. And, yes, lately I’ve had a lot against me personally outside of my control.
It is free to be kind. It is free to extend grace and to live with humility and integrity.
It is free to remind each other that they matter.
I have had many, many touching stories interacting with my riders. I ultimately do it to support the farm rescues at H & W Sanctuary, but it has become the way I can give back just a tiny bit to do my part in life.
I encourage and challenge each of you to extend kindness, grace and to be someone’s reason to choose life one more day.

THIS is what my definition of picture perfect looks like to me.
THIS is what being rich looks like to me.
THIS is what true meaning looks like to me.
I will never regret choosing them (and my children) over monetary or material things, social status or favor among other people.
No matter how hard it gets, emotionally, physically or financially, I don’t have regrets.
I grieve the ones I couldn’t save.
I cherish each memory these photos represent.
I am grateful daily for being given the opportunity to be blessed by each animal I’ve gotten to connect with.
H & W Sanctuary is a blessing I’ll never take for granted. 🫶🏼❤️🐾🐴🐓🐷🐐🐰🐀🐈🐕❤️🫶🏼

The one thing I take most pride in is how most of H & W Sanctuary rescues live in peaceful harmony. It is so sweet seeing the connections. I have one cat that lives with the pigs; One pig that prefers to eat with the horse; one cat sleeps with the chickens. I’m blessed to get to live among such precious lives. 🫶🏼❤️🥰

Jenny was a rescue we brought in from outside of Pittsburgh, PA who was pregnant, had a massive sarcoid, needed an IV of fluids and antibiotics, blood infusion, was headed to slaughter and needed intense medical care. I had rented a trailer and drove the 6+ hours for her and a draft horse (Abraham). I sent her to New Bolton who after a $5000 bill got her healthy. They are the ones that informed me she was pregnant. Two weeks after her return to H & W Sanctuary, she delivered a stillborn baby. It was devastating, and she grieved for days. But, Jenny was able to be saved from slaughter and successfully adopted. Stories like Jenny’s are only success stories because of donations and rescue support. I’m only able to help as much as H & W is supported. Please consider donating, sharing the posts and praying for us! 🫶🏼❤️🫶🏼❤️🫶🏼❤️🫶🏼
