Having fun in the snow!!

We are so lucky to have great employees that really care about the horses. What a great gift from our barn hand to hang up in the NEWLY INSULATED training barn. It is staying nice and warm in there now even with the freezing temps and windy/snow today.

All the horses are dressed warm and enjoying their turnout time 🩵 It’s snowing a little bit but not enough to stick with high temp only getting to 30 today! ❄️

Tara is going WTC well and is now learning dressage contact. We could see her doing hunter jumper, dressage, or working equitation. Every ride she improves and she remembers what she learned from the last training session. She was started later in life due to her size (she’s a tall girl with long legs).

She’s a very sweet mare who bonds VERY deeply with her rider. She is highly intelligent and we could see her loving a life of variety. She is still green, and will require an experienced rider to help keep bringing her along.

Scotty is the coolest pony around!

He’s been in training with me for the last 6 month and makes so much progress every single ride. He was a well loved Amish kiddos trail riding and cart horse prior to entering Dressage training. He’s been started over cross rails and really enjoys jumping! I could see him being a phenomal and competitive Pony Club Mount.

He’s very safe but is a forward thinking ride so best suited for someone who likes a pony with natural impulsion. No spook, no buck, no rear. He hacks out, loads, ties, and is great for the farrier and vet.

🖤 Fancy Friesian Mare 🖤

Reina is solid walk, trot, canter under saddle and she is extremely comfortable to ride with top quality gaits. A great horse for the future!

She’s been in training at Alexandra Stables in Georgetown KY for several months and has been ridden by a pro, adult amateur, and a young rider. Same horse everyday.

Hacks out, great for the farrier (barefoot), vet, ties, clips, bathes, loads, and has good ground manners. Can be turned out alone or with others 🌸

Scotty is a 10 year old Hackney Pony / Belgian cross who is broke to ride and drive! He enjoys going on trail rides and is very brave. We’ve ridden him during wind storms, and while the ice and snow was falling off the arena roof. He has not spooked at all since being in training to learn how to be a dressage horse. Previously Scotty was an Amish horse and he was very loved by all the kids. He spend every Sunday going for trail rides and we are told that was his favorite thing to do.

His owners have asked us to help him find a new home. I could see him being a great Pony Club mount, adult amateur mount, or kids horse!

We have a few really nice horses looking for new homes currently:

1. Reina

Coming 4 years old purebred Friesian mare who’s been recently started under saddle. She has a lovely walk, trot, and canter which will continue to develop as she finishes growing and gains more strength/balance. She has a great temperament, loves interacting with humans, and is not spooky. Currently barefoot and recently had her teeth floated.

2. Tara

Coming 4 year old purebred/Registered Andalusian mare. She has been started on the lunge and is slowly being started under saddle. We have sat on her a few times and are starting to ride her in the walk. She is a hot and energetic horse who will require additional training so only available to a trainer currently. This mare screams future FEI superstar!

3. Scotty

10 Year old Hackey Pony/Belgian cross. He was an Amish horse for the first part of his life so he is broke to drive. He was ridden by one of the kids every Sunday and really enjoys being ridden. We have ridden him with different types of saddles, and ba****ck. He has a nice forward walk, trot, gait, and gallop. This is the all around gelding everyone wants in their barn!

4. Raven

3 year old unstarted Friesian cross project mare. She has not been started and is currently in ground work training. This mare has the looks and the movement to make a fantastic dressage horse in the future. She’s growing very fast and will probably be a larger horse. We plan to start her in the spring if she has not found a home yet. Currently only available to a trainer home.

The farm will be closed for the remainder of tonight and tomorrow due to the Winter Storm.

Please stay safe out there and don’t leave your house unless you absolutely have to and only if you have 4x4. Even our Dully was sliding around today.
