HELLO FRIENDS! Please accept our apologies for not posting sooner. Life is Good! We made a very quick visit to Georgetown in June and then headed back out. We went through Oklahoma all the way to Missouri (just south of St Louis) and spent a month. We headed east and spent some time in Nashville, a place we had never visited. We enjoyed historic neighborhood tours, a drive through Vanderbilt, some amazing food, walking around iconic Broadway and of course an evening at The Grand Ole Opry. From there we headed slightly south and east to LaFayette GA…just a few minutes south of Chattanooga TN…for six weeks. We enjoyed beautiful rolling hills, weekly farmers market visits, meet lots of new friends and simply fell in love with the area. We are leaving tomorrow from a 2.5 week visit in Tuskegee AL. Our great take away from the area is Auburn…such a beautiful town. A college town often has a unique vibe or feel often with eclectic, independent restaurants. Auburn is simply Beautiful. We will slowly be working our way back to Georgetown for a quick brief visit before heading out in early November for Asheville NC and Thanksgiving at The Biltmore.
Diesel prices and higher grocery prices along the way have been an unplanned reality. When we left Texas in January, we paid $2.83 and yesterday we saw $6.69 at the exit on I85. Fortunately, we are members of a fuel club that sometimes helps anywhere from $.05 to $.45 discount per gallon. We had planned to head west next summer to Montana, Yellowstone and Utah. We are now thinking we might fly and enjoy hotel comforts instead.
Paris has continued to improve and is back to her old self. She is the unofficial welcome committee at every place she goes. One evening we were visiting with some fellow campers, and I jokingly said we were going to make Paris get a part-time job to help pay for fuel. We of course all laughed and then we awoke the next morning, a friend had an AI generated Resume for Paris! What do you think? Would you hire her? 🤣
