Yesterday afternoon, Dr. Bridge had the opportunity to visit the University of Kentucky Sheep Unit to teach undergraduate Animal Science students the importance of Breeding Soundness Examinations (BSEs) in rams. 🐑

BSEs are an essential component of flock management, helping producers evaluate reproductive health, identify potential fertility concerns, and make informed decisions ahead of breeding season. Students gained valuable hands-on experience learning the different components of these examinations and their role in maintaining a productive flock.

CVC is proud of our ongoing partnership with the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture as they educate the next generation!

Next up for National Vet Tech Week is Terri! 🐾💙

Terri joined our CVC crew earlier this year, but she's certainly no stranger to veterinary medicine! With 19 years of experience under her belt, she's seen a little bit of everything.

She brings years of knowledge, experience, and a helping hand wherever it's needed. It didn't take her long to fit right in with our crew!

We're so glad Terri decided to join our little CVC family, and we're lucky to have her!

Next up for National Vet Tech Week is Sidney Thornton! 🐾💙

Sidney has been with us since the very beginning, so she's seen just about everything CVC has thrown her way! 😂

Along with helping care for our patients, Sidney is our inventory manager, which means she's responsible for keeping our shelves stocked, supplies ordered, and somehow keeping track of all the things the rest of us use (and forget to tell her we're out of 🤦🏼‍♀️).

Whether she's helping in an exam room, loving on a patient, or tackling the never-ending inventory list, Sidney wears a lot of hats around here!

It's National Vet Tech Week, and kicking us off is our very own Molly Perkins, LVT! 🐾💙

Molly keeps us laughing, keeps the doctors in line, and takes her lunch break naps VERY seriously. 😂

She has a soft spot for our goats, sheep, and chickens, and you'll often find her tagging along on farm calls! Of course, she's never one to pass up some puppy snuggles either.

Whether she's wrangling an alpaca or helping out in surgery, there's never a dull moment with Molly around!

We're lucky to have her on our team! ❤️🐐🐓

Did you know CVC is privately AND veterinarian owned? 🩺🐾

Veterinary medicine is changing. More practices are being purchased by large corporations and private-equity groups, sometimes without clients ever realizing the ownership has changed.

Commonwealth Veterinary Clinic is different. We are privately owned by veterinarians who work right here in the clinic every day.

That means decisions about your animal’s care are made by the doctors treating them, not by a corporate office. We decide how much time our appointments need, what medications and products we trust, what equipment we invest in, and what makes sense for our clients and community.

There are great veterinarians in every type of practice. For us, being independently owned simply means we get to practice medicine the way we believe it should be practiced.
