🐾 A C-section with a little surprise… or NINE! šŸ¼šŸ˜³

This morning, we had a mama come in for a C-section. After Dr. Jimerson safely delivered her puppies, she noticed something abnormal while examining Mom.

After a little further investigation, she found the culprit… 9 WATER BOTTLE CAPS in her stomach! 🤯

Yep. NINE. 🧓🧢

Dr. Jimerson was able to remove all nine bottle caps while Mom was already under anesthesia, making for a much more eventful C-section than we originally planned!

Mama and her puppies are doing well, and we think it’s safe to say she has officially lost her water-bottle privileges. šŸ˜‚šŸ¶

This is also a great reminder that dogs can swallow things faster than we realize. Keep small objects, trash, toys, and anything your pet likes to chew safely out of reach!

Just another day in veterinary medicine — you truly never know what you’re going to find! šŸ¾ā¤ļø

Well… despite our best efforts to convince him otherwise, Burke decided vet school was a better idea than staying with us forever.

In all seriousness, saying goodbye to Burke wasn’t easy. What started as a summer at the clinic quickly turned into a friendship, and it didn’t take long for him to become part of the LOCVS family.

Burke, thank you for your hard work, your willingness to learn, and for always jumping in wherever you were needed. We couldn’t be more proud to watch you take the next step toward becoming a veterinarian, and we know you’re going to do incredible things.

We’ll miss having you around the clinic more than we’d like to admit. (Even though we know you’ll miss us more)

Congratulations, Burke! We can’t wait to see everything you accomplish… and don’t worry, we’ll keep your spot warm for when you come back to visit on your breaks! 😁 ā¤ļø

Big things are happening at Live Oak County Veterinary Services!

What an exciting weekend! We officially started the process of moving into our brand-new Equine & Small Farm Animal Hospital!

One of the biggest milestones this weekend was getting the horse stocks safely moved into the new facility definitely one of the largest and most challenging pieces of the move! Seeing them in place makes everything feel so much more real.

This has been a long time in the making, and we couldn’t be more excited to finally open the doors to a facility designed to better serve our equine and livestock patients throughout South Texas.

We’re still putting on the finishing touches and moving equipment, but we can’t wait to welcome you and your animals into this new space starting this week!

Stay tuned! A full video tour of the entire facility is coming soon, and we can’t wait to show you everything we’ve been working so hard to create.

Thank you to our amazing clients, friends, family, and community for your continued support and encouragement throughout this journey. We truly couldn’t have done it without you, and we’re so excited for this next chapter at Live Oak County Veterinary Services!
