👀 It’s the details that make the difference.
One of the things I enjoy most about Taxidermy is that every animal is different. You can't always rely on a "one size fits all" approach and expect the finished piece to look like the individual animal you're trying to recreate.
On this lifesize coyote, I felt the head needed more size and presence to accurately represent the animal.
Rather than ordering a replacement, I decided to make my own.
I carved a new head from a scrap piece of foam and shaped it specifically for this coyote.
It's a small part of the overall process, but these are the kinds of details that matter.
👀Pay attention to the animal in front of you—not just the form you're working with.
That's where the artistry comes in.
