In preparation for Dr Heckmann’s arrival on the 17th I had the front of our adjacent property converted into additional parking, adding 11 more parking spots. The new parking area lacks a few details being complete, but is ready for use. Shout out to Nolte construction for the parking lot work.
The addition of Dr Heckmann adds 50 appointments, as well as 20 surgery and dental slots per week for our clients, so the new parking should be well used.
We also welcome and appreciate NEW clients from all of Coryell and surrounding counties. Thanks - Dr. Mabry.

Dr. Mabry and the staff of Coryell Veterinary Clinic are excited to announce the addition of Dr. Mikayla Heckmann. Dr. Heckmann will join our team on Monday, August 17th. She is looking forward to serving you and your animals’ needs at Coryell Veterinary Clinic. We have opened her schedule and are presently booking appointments in anticipation of her arrival.
A little about Dr Heckmann for those of you who don't know her.
Dr. Mikayla Heckmann was born in Nebraska, but moved to Gatesville when she was 5 years old. She graduated from Gatesville High School in 2015 and attended Texas A&M University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and a minor in Business Administration in 2019. While in high school and college she volunteered and worked at Coryell Veterinary Clinic as a kennel technician and veterinary assistant. She then continued her veterinary education at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2023. She has been practicing at a mixed animal clinic in south Texas since graduation.
Dr Heckmann enjoys treating all animals and has a passion for general surgery and cardiology. She is trained to perform echocardiograms on dogs and cats.
Dr Heckmann has known she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 7 years old. She even had a play vet clinic when she was little, complete with stuffed animal patients!
Dr Heckmann’s hobbies include playing volleyball, hiking, and watching college football.

WELCOME Dr. Heckmann!
