With mixed emotions, I want to let you all know that I have decided to step down from Director of Family Addition. The past 7 years have been absolutely amazing! When Tanya asked me to take the organization over, I had no idea how passionate I actually was about rescue work. I had always been a dog lover, had always had dogs in my life and had been involved in rescue for many years prior. I stepped in as director because I knew this organization, its volunteers and the dogs we helped were all special and worthy of continuing on. I had 1 baby boy and 1 on the way that I wanted to share my love of dogs with and teach that all living things are worthy of being loved. Looking back, it was probably crazy to roll up to an animal shelter with 2 babies in tow and walk out with random dogs based on a feeling that they would make a great addition to someone's family😜 Over the years we have had the pleasure of meeting some of the most amazing humans and some of the even more amazing canine's in this world! Today, I have chosen to take a step back because those babies of mine are now about to turn 7 & 9. I am in the throws of "boymomhood" and have realized my focus is with this stage of my life. I want to thank every person that has supported me and this rescue over the past 7 years. Every person that has volunteered, donated, fostered, shared and adopted. YOU are what keeps this organization going. Though I am taking this step back responsibility-wise, I am not gone. My love for the rescue world and needy dogs runs way too deep to ever walk away! I plan to stay active and involved here and look forward to seeing what is next for Family Addition.
