*****UPDATE: I am so genuinely grateful for all of the support so far! It truly warms my heart to be able to continue to care for these senior babies who were left behind in our surrounding county shelters 💗
Thank you all and please share the post, please!!

New seniors and more exams and dentals needed!!

Pixie is approximately 10-15 yrs old(?), she is possibly a yorkie/cairn terrier.
She has a cough and some awful teeth. She’ll be scheduled very soon for exam, lab work, dental and possibly x-rays. Estimated bill can easily be $800-$1000
Finn is maybe dachshund/chihuahua mix(?). He’s also around 12-15 yrs old. He has very bad teeth and a place on his face that needs to be addressed. His exam, lab work and dental are scheduled Monday 4/27. Estimated bill also, will run probably $800.
If you are able, we would definitely appreciate donations to allow us to continue to care for these very deserving senior dogs! No amount is too small “ $2 Tuesday”!!!💗🐶🐶
Total estimate $1600-$1800

***UPDATE!! Willow was transported to a foster home that may become her forever home!! Fingers crossed! Jed Terrell assisted with transport and reports she was such a sweetheart!!
Sometimes assisting dogs is just as important as taking them in ourselves! We were thankful to play a small part to help Willow move on to her next phase 💗💗💗

🐾 Urgent Foster (or Forever) Needed for Willow 🐾

Meet Willow, a sweet 6-year-old Lab mix who is suddenly searching for a soft place to land after her owners tragically passed away. 💔

Willow doesn’t understand why her world changed — she just knows she needs a family again. She’s a gentle, loving girl who thrives around people and would make an easy addition to a home.

✨ About Willow:
• Spayed female
• House trained
• Great with kids
• Good with other dogs
• Calm, sweet temperament
• Approximately 6 years old

Willow does need to be brought up to date on vaccines, and her family has generously offered to cover those costs — she just needs someone willing to open their home and heart.

She is currently looking for a foster or adoption.

If you can help Willow during this difficult transition, please reach out.
📩 Contact Joyce Blackburn for more information or to foster/adopt. Direct message or at 845-549-5483.

Dog looking for a home:

This sweet boy was found with no collar or tags 2 weeks ago during the ice storm. We have tried for these past two weeks to find his owners to no avail. We fear he was probably dumped which breaks our heart. His eyes told us immediately that he has been through a lot and he was scared. We wish we could keep him but due to our living arrangements that is not possible. He’s house trained and still has a little puppy in him. He would probably love a nice backyard to run around in. He enjoys snuggling and has a great temperament. He spends most of the day napping on his bed and will come up from time to time to check on me in the office while I’m working. He would be a great addition to any family. We just want to try to find him a loving home. Please contact Christine for more information: 917-325-4709

With mixed emotions, I want to let you all know that I have decided to step down from Director of Family Addition. The past 7 years have been absolutely amazing! When Tanya asked me to take the organization over, I had no idea how passionate I actually was about rescue work. I had always been a dog lover, had always had dogs in my life and had been involved in rescue for many years prior. I stepped in as director because I knew this organization, its volunteers and the dogs we helped were all special and worthy of continuing on. I had 1 baby boy and 1 on the way that I wanted to share my love of dogs with and teach that all living things are worthy of being loved. Looking back, it was probably crazy to roll up to an animal shelter with 2 babies in tow and walk out with random dogs based on a feeling that they would make a great addition to someone's family😜 Over the years we have had the pleasure of meeting some of the most amazing humans and some of the even more amazing canine's in this world! Today, I have chosen to take a step back because those babies of mine are now about to turn 7 & 9. I am in the throws of "boymomhood" and have realized my focus is with this stage of my life. I want to thank every person that has supported me and this rescue over the past 7 years. Every person that has volunteered, donated, fostered, shared and adopted. YOU are what keeps this organization going. Though I am taking this step back responsibility-wise, I am not gone. My love for the rescue world and needy dogs runs way too deep to ever walk away! I plan to stay active and involved here and look forward to seeing what is next for Family Addition.

Ready for the really cool part? We are going full circle! Our founder, Tanya Hill is taking the lead back!!!!!! I am so grateful for all of Tanya's support and leadership over the years and am so excited to see what she has planned for the future of FADR! ❤️

Hey y'all! Did you know that today is Giving Tuesday? We would love if you would consider making a donation to our rescue. No amount is too small! Every penny goes to helping dogs in need. While we focus on homeless dogs, we also make it a point to assist in keeping dogs in their existing homes when their owners need a little extra help. If you can help, click that donate button and share!
