It was time to check in with Chewie and see how he was doing. We went on a nice walk without his E-Collar Technologies (eletronic collar) for me to see how well his training has been internalized. He heeled well during the walk and responded to his basics commands without any issue.
When the dog is trained effectively they will generally behave well without the aid of tools. It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have tools handy because you will never know when the situation will require clearer communication. If a mistake goes uncorrected the cost of fixing the behavior can be big.
