You may notice new faces in our office or on farm calls during the summer months as we welcome college students to shadow our veterinarians. Last week, a Purdue University veterinary student joined Dr. Yarde and Dr. Knott for appointments, observing and learning alongside them. Mentoring students is a rewarding experience, and we wish them all the best in their studies and future careers.

It was herd check day today! We had a great afternoon pregnancy checking, vaccinating, and deworming these beef cows. We also performed a routine blood screen to test for Johne's and Anaplasmosis. A herd check is a great way for Dr. Yarde to assess your herd and develop the best protocol for your success!

One of the many pig surgeries we accomplished this week! A p*e pocket on a barrow, this is a sac that fills with p*e and makes it look like they have a large sheath, so we surgically invert the sac and remove it!

This one specifically was very large and already started to be infective as you can see the debris on Dr. Yarde’s gloves.

We just want to say thank you to everyone that came in yesterday for our hoof trim day!! It was a great success! We ran 44 head through!! We had all different sizes from a mini cow to big heathy cows and even two steers with horns!

Thank you to Micheal Hoover for coming to our office and helping our clients out!

We look forward to another day hopefully in the fall!
