This chunky lover boy is in need of a furever home!!

We had the honors of getting to groom Mr Hobbs for the DeKalb Humane Society and he was such a trooper with us. He thankfully just needed a good deshedding bath and combing to get all the thick coat out of him. If he was able to find a home with someone who could help him get to a slimmer weight we’re confident he’d be able to clean himself more effectively resulting in much less annoying brushing and combing from us 😅😆

Even when he wasn’t really having it anymore he still had to do drive by head butts or a full body slam of love before dashing away to the safety of a corner. For as sweet as he is, he’s still a very independent boy and has lived his entire 8 years outside. He deserves a home that can be a safety net to call his own when he’s done adventuring and a person who will give him some good pets and love before he’s ready to roam again.

If you’re looking for an independent man who is capable of taking care of himself but soft and sweet enough to show his more affectionate and emotional side then Hobbs is the purrfect cat for you! He’s currently at the DeKalb humane society looking for his next adventure!

We’re back! Well I’ve been here 😆, but Carla is back from her trip so we’re back to posting! And we have an update for everyone! 🙌

While mom was enjoying Tennessee warmth during our dreary weather, I took the opportunity to surprise her with our memorial wall…

We have honestly talked about doing a wall for years now to honor all the beloved pets we’ve loved over the years who have sadly passed on over the rainbow bridge. This design and project took me 3 months to complete and we’re both so happy with how it’s turned out. We have a home for our own personal animals and almost ten years of love in every name on our board. This is a project of love and it saddens us that we already know more names will eventually have to be added, but we’re happy we now have a dedicated space to memorialize them and honor them. Each bone has the name of a beloved dog who has passed and we currently only have one fish outline on the board but it symbolizes a beloved cat who has passed on.

We aren’t always informed of the passing of a beloved pet, so if we’ve had the honors of grooming your pet and they’ve passed away and aren’t on our board, please let us know and we will get them added.

I will have Suki and Bella added to the board once I get more vinyl so they’re not on there yet, but they’ve not been forgotten either. And I did my best to capture all the names without a glare in the photo but it wasn’t the easiest so I want to finish this post by listing out each name in honor and remembrance:

Not on the board but deeply loved by us, our friends and even some of our wonderful clients, our own 3 unique and beloved pets: Spooky, Madra and Ish. Their ashes sit atop the shelf to always be remembered and loved.

For we want to showcase one of the best dogs we’ve had the honors of loving, miss Molly!

Molly’s grooms have changed as she’s gotten older with us and this groom with her was very bittersweet. We faced many of the same health challenges and scares with Madra that Molly’s people have had with her. The same heartache we felt with our own beloved dog, is the same heartaches we know Molly’s family have been experiencing so she’s become a little extra special to us.

When we lost Madra, one of our first thoughts was how Molly was doing? We’re so happy to see Molly is still here with us and that we were able to pamper her again. She’s still just as stubborn as she was from day one 😂 but Madra was the exact same so we can’t help but love Molly more for her occasional shenanigans 🥰. We are so thankful to Molly and her family for trusting us with her. We are grateful and honored that Molly has accepted us and loved us for so long. And we hope we are able to see her again, but we know that if this was her last groom with us that she loved us just as much as we loved her and she will truly always be cherished by us and have a space in our hearts forever. 🐾💕

New cutie alert!!

This handsome pup was the absolute sweetest boy ever. We were warned he absolutely hates grooming though and we knew we were up to the challenge of truly pampering him.

He absolutely loved bath time, his only complaint was he had to sit in a shampoo treatment for a few minutes and I didn’t touch him constantly for those few minutes 🤣. Don’t worry his complaints were properly filed and documented and next time we will make sure all hands are on him 👐

Unfortunately that was the only grooming experience he enjoyed as the rest were a bit too much for him. We took our time though, reminded him he was a good boy and it may not be our best work, but we were able to clip his nails safely, comb him out and even trim up some things on him.

Not every dog enjoys grooming, but that doesn’t mean they’re a bad dog. Bear here was kind, sweet and loving. He was just terrified and unsure and he needed a little more patience, understanding and time. And no we didn’t magically make him love grooming, we did hopefully make him understand it doesn’t hurt and instead helps him though. We are just grateful he came back with wags, wiggles, and all the kisses we could handle instead of anger and distrust. Our goal isn’t always to make the dogs love to be groomed, we instead aim to earn every dogs trust and love so they always feel welcome with us, even if they don’t enjoy our jobs. 🐾❤️
