And it’s official. Clark’s Pet Care has come to a close after almost 3 years in business. Since I can’t relocate all of you to Indianapolis, I have to say goodbye so we can start our new chapter.

What a journey this has been. I’m not done with entrepreneurship or even the pet industry, but I plan to take a break from it to pursue my academic and professional writing career.

To you, especially at the start, it may have been just a nail trim or potty break for the dogs. But to me, this has been life-changing.

I wanted to give entrepreneurship a try while I attended Purdue University Fort Wayne.

I wanted to meet the needs of our rural community and make pet care accessible to all.

I wanted to help pets feel more comfortable at home, and more confident with the nail trim process. I wanted to make life easier for you and your family.

I created Clark’s Pet Care with many goals in mind.

In this photo, you may just see a selfie of me, but you don’t see all of the goals YOU helped me achieve.

If you looked through my camera roll, you would see my college graduation photos, keys to our new home in Indianapolis, my acceptance letter to Butler University, two cats that are fed and cared for, and our 3rd wedding anniversary photos.

And photos cannot capture all of the ways I have grown as a professional.

Truth is, when you support a small business, you are actively supporting a family within your very own community. You are investing in someone’s future and meeting their current needs.

That’s what you all did for me.

I hope you continue to do this for others as long as you are able. Please know you have inspired me to do the same.

I’m sad to be leaving you all, but I am excited for our new chapter. I’m going to miss you all, but of course I will never forget any of you. Every pet will be a part of my memory and every one of you have taught me something about the world.

This business has taught me many things about myself. That is worth way more than $16.

Please stay in touch. This page will stay open so you can access me on messenger anytime, especially as you and your pets navigate this new transition. Sending you and your families—furry and human—all my love. Always.

Thank you for everything.

Sincerely,
Belle / Danny / Owner of Clark’s Pet Care

💐 As we head into the last month of Clark’s Pet Care, I hope you feel supported! Thank you for sticking with me until the very end!

🌟 Pet of the Month: Piper, the Lab Mix
I remember meeting Piper & her parents back in November of 2023. They hired me because Piper had an ACL surgery and became anxious about nail trims. Over the years, she grew more accustomed to nail trims at home on the couch. Even with another ACL surgery on her other leg, she has tolerated trims with treats & extra support. We just had our last visit on Thursday and I’m so proud of how far she’s come. 🥹

🌟 Thinking Of: Baloo, the Shepard Mix
Baloo is one of the smartest and well-behaved doggies I have ever met! His mom spends a lot of time with him and their training. Recently, Baloo was diagnosed with liver cancer and promised only a few more days. Please keep Baloo’s family in your thoughts as they navigate this hard time. ❤️‍🩹

📝 Reminder: For those who want to start doing nail trims at home, on their own, links to the tools I recommend were sent your way. If anyone else is going the same route, please let me know. I’m here for you if you have any more questions!

🍀 This month reminded me of how lucky I am. Thanks for spending March with me!

💚 Pets of the Month: Ruth & Frank, the weens
I have been visiting this dachshund duo for over 2 years! The first few times, Ruth would run away after she saw me because she was afraid of nail trims. After her little brother Frank joined the family, her confidence grew. With a serious love for treats, it didn’t take long for both babies to get used to the process. Now, they beg for pedicures!

💚 Honoring the Life of: Cudder, the Hound mix
Cudder’s mom and I used to joke that he was a grumpy old man. Although he loved to share his opinions, he was a very good boy for his nail trims. It can be really hard to let go of such an important family member. Please keep Cudder’s family in your thoughts.

🌱 Wishing you all good health + happiness as we spring into this next season!

🥰 Let's recap February. Better late than never!

Pet of the Month: Peaches the Cavapoo 🍑
My dentist had asked me to visit, because they wanted their dog to have a fear-free experience. With Peaches' happy personality and love for treats, she braved the trim with zero complaints! Phenomenal job, Peaches!

Honoring the Beautiful Life of: Peaches 🧡
Peaches was a beautiful persian kitty with the cutest little nose and the softest fur. She was loved fiercely by her mom. Please help me send love to Peaches' parents and kitty siblings during this tough time.

🥰 February was short, but full of love! Thank you for letting me love on your fur babies. They deserve the very best!

💘 TTYL, January. It’s time for February!

Pet of the Month: Captain Hook 🏴‍☠️
Hook has been a client since January of 2024. He is a polydactyl cat, which means he has extra toes! When I first met Hook, he let me know that nail trims scared him. With gentle handling and time, he has come around to tolerating them much better. After the last few visits, we have noticed him stick around to receive scritchies when he’s all done. I’m so proud of all your progress, Hook!

Honoring the Beautiful Life of: Baggie 🐈‍⬛
Baggie was a sweet, senior kitty who loved to spend quality time with her people. She lived a long, beautiful life, but it is never easy to say goodbye. It was truly an honor to help care for her in her golden years.

💘 I hope everyone feels loved and supported this month. Thank you for sharing all your furry Valentines with me!
